Well… that wasn’t exactly how I planned to spend the last week.

After six days in the hospital with serotonin syndrome, I’m finally home. It was definitely one of the scariest experiences I’ve ever been through, but I’m so thankful to finally have answers and to be headed in the right direction. Safe to say this was not the wellness retreat I had in mind.

A huge thank you to every nurse who took care of me. You all were truly incredible. At some point, we collectively decided that if I couldn’t be in the salon, we’d just bring the salon to me. My hospital room briefly became the newest location of The Edit. 😂 Apparently I can’t stay away from hair—even on doctor’s orders. Between the IV pole and the hospital bed, we somehow made it work. Not to mention the scissor options were slim.

I also couldn’t have gotten through this without my amazing support system. Thank you to my boyfriend, Jake, my dad, and Devaney for spending countless hours at the hospital with me, keeping me company, making me laugh, and reminding me I wasn’t going through it alone. I know hospital chairs should qualify as a form of torture, so the fact that you willingly sat in them for me means the world. ❤️

I’m finally home and recovering, but my body still has a lot of healing to do. I’ll be back behind the chair next week, but if I seem a little quieter or less energetic than usual, please know I’m still recovering. I’m so excited to see everyone again—even if I have to trade my hospital bracelet for my stylist apron and take things a little slower for a while.

Thank you to everyone who has checked on me, prayed for me, sent messages, and shown me so much grace. This experience reminded me just how lucky I am to have such an incredible community surrounding me. I can’t wait to get back to doing what I love—preferably in a salon where the only thing beeping is the processing timer. ❤️

Unfortunately, due to a medical complication, my doctor has advised me not to return to work until 8/10.
