Despite facing numerous challenges throughout his journey, Ben successfully completed his treatment in June 2022 and has since returned to school. Now that he is finished with treatment, he enjoys spending quality time with friends and eagerly anticipates new adventures.

The funds raised through Light The Night enable LLS to develop vital treatments for individuals affected by various blood cancers. Since 2016, LLS has been instrumental in funding over 70% of FDA-approved therapies for blood cancer.

Sunscreen 101 ☀️:
Above a certain level, a higher sun protection factor (SPF) has little added benefit compared with a lower SPF. Experts generally recommend using sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30, which blocks out 97% of UVB radiation. It may be worth a higher SPF if you're planning to be outside for more than two to three hours, especially during hours of peak sun exposure (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.). But in most circumstances, a higher SPF may not be worth the extra cost. Why ? Well it’s because UVA and UVB rays don’t work at the same rate. While you’re being protected with a high SPF it’s only protecting you against UVA rays which cause burning to the skin. Although you may not be burning with a higher SPF UVB protection stops after 30 mins which means you’ll still be getting radiation rays which are cancer causing and definitely don’t want. It’s best to stick with a lower SPF and exposure time. Our expert advice it to just apply and reapply as much as possible. Since we are in the process of developing our own sunscreen we recommend using the sunscreens and primers at 🖤.
