Valentine’s Day is coming soon. 🥰 Although the history of St. Valentine is a bit of a mystery how we celebrate Valentine's Day is quite clear...sharing our ❤️love for one another.

Learning to love ourself is so important so let's show ourselves and our loved ones some self-care love with 14 days of MK love.

What an inspiration!!

In November 1978 Reader’s Digest published an article on Mary Kay titled The Sweet Smell of Success. Following is an excerpt and picture from this article:

“Mary Kay made straight A’s through high school. There was no money for college, and feeling she “had to do something big to make up for it,” she got married. Five years later during World War II, her husband - a guitar player - was drafted into the Army. When he returned he asked Mary Kay for a divorce. “It was the lowest point in my life, she admitted, “I felt like a complete failure.”

The article goes on to share that, because of having to provide for three children, she went to joined Stanley Home products, selling cleaning supplies at home parties. After three weeks, she knew she needed help as her show average was $7. From that she had to deduct a $4.99 complimentary brush that she gave the hostess. When she heard about a Stanley sales convention in Dallas, she signed up. At that event, she saw a girl crowned queen. She was determined to be in her spot the next year. She then marched up to company president, F. Stanley Beveridge, and told him that the next year, she was going to be queen.

Then he did something that sealed her success, and changed her life. He looked her in the eye and told her, “Somehow I think you will.”

When she returned home, she took all of her notes and revised her selling approach. Her sales increased with each party that she held, and the next year she was queen.
