Recently, we had to make the difficult decision to let an employee go because they were not the right fit for our team. Unfortunately, they have responded by posting multiple fake Google reviews targeting one of our stylists and our salon.
Our team pours our hearts into creating a safe, welcoming space for every child and every family who walks through our doors. Seeing false reviews damage something we’ve worked so hard to build is incredibly discouraging.

Every single day, we meet kids who walk through our doors feeling all kinds of things about a haircut. Some are excited. Some are unsure. And some are carrying really big feelings: fear, overwhelm, sensory challenges, or just not knowing what to expect. And the truth is, every one of those kids deserves to feel safe, understood, and supported exactly as they are.

That’s what matters most to us. Always.

That’s why this feels so special to share. We are so proud to introduce the release of our very own fully illustrated, published storybook: “Be Brave Today: Charlie’s Haircut Day.”

It’s a gentle, simple way to help kids see what a haircut looks like before they’re in the chair. To make it feel more familiar. Less overwhelming. A little more within their control.

In the coming weeks you’ll find the story in our playroom book nooks, and we will have copies available for purchase to keep at home as well.

But this isn’t just for our salons, this is for our whole community.

We know we are just one small piece of a much bigger support system surrounding our kids. There are so many incredible therapists, providers, and offices who pour into them every single day, helping them grow, regulate, communicate, and feel confident in their world.

If there is someone who has been part of your child’s journey - an occupational therapist, speech therapist, ABA team, pediatrician, or any support provider, please tag them below in the comments. We would love to gift them a copy for their space, so even more kids can feel prepared, supported, and a little braver walking into new experiences.

This isn’t just about haircuts. It’s about showing kids that they are safe here. That they are seen here. And that we’re going to meet them exactly where they are, every single time.

It’s been a while since I have posted but just know I’m still here doing what I love! I got the privilege of meeting this little guy tonight and giving him a haircut! It’s the first time he has gotten a haircut without tears. I am so thankful for every one of you who sends me families to work with.
I’m so thankful for when parents trust the process knowing that the goal is to create trust and not trauma for my little friends!!

Please be mindful that if you don’t call the schedule a sensory appt. We may need to reschedule the spot due to lack of time!!

If your child is struggling with haircuts the best thing to do is be consistent. Don’t let too much time pass in between haircuts as this only makes it harder for them!

Just a quick PSA!!! As of this week I will be spending half of my time in Richmond. If you are unable to get on my schedule please call the salon and leave your number. I will be doing some extended hours for clients who need appts!
