➡️Not all fades are the same — and knowing the difference helps you get a better haircut.

You’ll see a lot of terms online like low taper fade, mid fade, or burst fade — but here’s what they actually mean:

• High fade: starts higher up on the head and stays tight
• Mid fade: starts about halfway up the head
• Low fade: stays very low around the head
• Taper: fades just the temples and the back of the neck
• Burst fade: fades around the ear in a circular shape

Knowing these terms helps you explain what you want — and helps your barber give you exactly that.

Rounded. Squared. Tapered.

Most of the time, it really is a preference thing — but your natural hairline plays a big role too in what’s going to look best and grow out the cleanest.

That said…

👉 I will almost always recommend a tapered neckline.

Why?
Because it gives you:
• The most natural grow-out
• More time before your haircut looks out of control
• A softer transition as your hair grows
• A cut that still looks intentional weeks later

Squared and rounded necklines can look sharp on day one… but they tend to grow out heavy, bulky, and obvious pretty fast.

👉🏻Bringing pictures or references helps more than you think — especially when you tell us what you like and what you don’t in them.

👉🏻Let us know your problem areas too. Does one side grow weird? Cowlicks? Spots that always stick out? That information matters.

👉🏻And don’t forget lifestyle.

Ending 2025 with gratitude… and boundaries.
