Max's Kidney Transplant Journey

Hey guys! It’s been a while! Things are pretty calm in the Pendlum household right now. Max is working hard on school during the week and enjoys visits with his friends after school and sometimes on the weekends.
This Sunday, we’re having a little get-together on the driveway for anyone who wants to come visit Max, play some trivia, and enjoy some hot chocolate!
Tracy Goode, the very kind gentleman who DJ’d the car wash, is going to host it. He was so thoughtful and reached out to me about a month ago, offering a way for Max to get out and socialize a bit. I just thought that was so kind of him!
The idea is to stop by, enjoy some trivia and hot chocolate, and visit with Max from a safe distance. We’ll be waving from the other end of the driveway!
We would love to see anybody who wants to come by! It would be nice for Max to see some familiar faces and have a little fun. And since I’ve been social distancing right along with him, I think it might be nice for me to get to see some people and have a little fun myself!
Make sure to bring a chair!

Hey everyone. Max just wanted me to let you all know that thank-you notes will be coming soon. His goal was to work on them while he was quarantined, but his tremors are still bad enough that he’s having a hard time writing.
They’re supposed to get better as his rejection meds are reduced, so hopefully that will help. He was starting to feel bad that he hasn’t been able to get them done yet, so we just thought we’d put something out there and let everyone know. He truly appreciates everything everyone has done for him.

What do you do when you miss your friends but can't have them in the house?

Today’s ride was so special because of these incredible men and women.
We could not feel more loved than we did today. They worked so hard to make this day happen and to make sure Max knew just how much everyone cared about him.
Max wasn’t able to be there for the ride itself, but he did get to see everyone pull in at the end. Even with social distancing, they made sure he was able to be part of it and feel all the care and support.
Some of these guys worked really hard to make this event happen, and everyone who came took time out of their weekend to show up because they wanted to do something kind and amazing for Max. They all have busy lives and busy jobs, and they didn’t do any of this for recognition. They did it because they genuinely care about Max. That means more to us than they know, and we will never forget it.

If you are coming to the ride tomorrow and have a Team Max T-shirt, I would greatly appreciate it if you’d wear it! I’d love to see those Team Max shirts out there tomorrow! 😊
And just a reminder, cars are welcome too, so you don’t have to be riding a motorcycle to come out and support Team Max.

Hey friends Max's at charity ride is tomorrow and we are having a small silent auction. We have just a little bit of a hiccup and was wondering if there was anyone that had a table that we could borrow for the items. If possible we could pick up tonight and return it tomorrow after the ride.

Clinic went well today. No real updates, which is a good thing!
Max has been studying for about a week now, but today was his first in-person meeting with his teacher. They normally meet over Teams, but he had a couple of tests to take today that needed to be proctored, so his teacher came to the house.
It was nice to see him getting back into a little bit of a normal school routine.

Who is planning to come on Saturday to hang out with these really cool guys?
