What do I love most about my career?

I love my cozy little salon space, the flexibility to create a schedule that works for my family, and of course—the awesome color and cut transformations. But more than anything, it’s the connections I build with my clients that mean the most.

I’ve had the honor of being there through some of the most exciting times—graduations, weddings, growing families—and also through some of the hardest: illness, grief, and loss.

It’s about helping women feel like themselves again during life’s biggest transitions. Being part of someone’s self-care routine, the person they trust to help them feel better—not just physically, but mentally—that’s the heart of what I do.

And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Hey 👋🏼 It’s been a minuteeee since I have posted on social media! To be honest, I have always found it to be overwhelming - another task to complete - but I really am trying to reframe it as a way to share, connect, and gain inspiration. On that note, here’s a little bit about me and what’s going on in my world.

- My little hair studio is turning FIVE this year!!
- I am a military spouse and met my husband when we were in middle school!
- I have three kiddos - my bonus son is turning 18, and my two girls are 11 & 9.
- I love to read. I’m finishing up my 10th book for this year and would love some recommendations!
- My biggest dream in life is to travel and I am working hard to make it a part of my reality.
- I love spending time outside - snowboarding, walking, hiking, being near water.
- I was on the Titanic in a former life 🚢
- I am a dog and cat mom, but will 💯 be a crazy cat lady when I’m old 🐈🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛

It’s time to be a little real. Owning a business is hard work. 95% I absolutely love it, but when things get hard, they get HARD.

Yesterday I woke up with excruciating shoulder pain unable to move my left arm (and I’m a lefty at that). I almost made myself go to work, but quickly realized if I can’t even get myself dressed there’s no way I could be moving my arms all day.

After X-rays, a cortisone shot, and a visit to the specialist I’m not quite sure what’s going on or how long it will go on for. I have an MRI scheduled for the end of the week and am hoping to get some answers.

All of the being said I have never navigated a situation like this before. I have cancelled all appointments for the next week and closed my online booking through July just until I have some sort of timeline and can move all of the appointments I had to cancel. If you are looking for an appointment, please add yourself to my waitlist. If you have an appointment coming up and can’t wait and want to reschedule with another stylist, I have some wonderful people I am referring out to - just send me a message.

Imagine it: you’re laying in the shampoo chair. You’ve got a heating pad under you relaxing your overworked back muscles. You don’t have the normal salon cramp in your neck because your head is resting on a sink pillow, so you are as comfortable as comfortable can be. You have your favorite music playing. You’re getting a head and neck massage and the tension is melting away. You don’t have any obligations in this moment except to just rela # # .

This is what your salon experience should be. This is what I offer for all of my guests.

Hey all! It’s been a while since I’ve been on social media, so it feels like time for a little re-introduction!

I’m Kim, I’ve been a hairstylist for 17 years, and have had my own salon for the last (almost) 4 years. I specialize in low maintenance color and dimensional grey coverage. I have a husband, three kiddos, a dog and two cats. I love to travel, go for walks, and crystals🔮. I believe that happiness is contagious and love to spread kindness ☮️ I have a bad memory, I’m not tech savvy, and I’m a terrible bowler, but I give my best everyday and that’s all we can really do right?

If you’ve been around here for a while then you know that 2023 was a wild year – dealing with the flooding, moving my salon, being a mom of three very active children, etc. etc. but I am ready for all of the great things to come in 2024!

I moved!! Don’t worry, it’s just down the hall 🙃

When my salon flooded 2 months ago, I journaled that something bigger and better was coming for me. At the time I had no idea that I would end up leaving my space - especially since I had just signed another 3 year lease.

But a series of unexpected events led to me being able to upgrade my salon and I am soooooo excited for you all to see it!

Also, I just want to thank the 3 salons who housed me for the last 2 months .studio and I can’t thank you guys enough for your generosity ❤️❤️❤️

Hey all - I have a few updates!

1. My online booking is back up and running! Feel free to book appointments as usual. (I have appointments available as soon as next week!)

2. I have secured a chair to rent at the beautiful, newly expanded Wylde + Lowe Salon in Andover while I wait for my studio to be put back together. I’m so grateful for all of the salons who offered me a temporary home 🙏🏼

3. The remediation process in our building is ending and they will be starting construction (hopefully) early next week! 🎉

I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer - I can’t believe school starts next week!!
