This summer marks a decade since I started making my handmade beauty products back in 2016. Alhamdulillah, I have handmade and shipped over 5,000 gifts in 10 years, all while working from home & raising my family. My heart is thankful and grateful. 🙏❤️🥹

I’m always trying to learn new techniques and master my hunar with every batch I make. Today, I learned how much color changes with every degree! I finally found the exact color I was looking for at 130°F with a 7% manjistha / 5% annatto infusion.

The hardest part of this is keeping track of my napkin notes! It’s a labor of love, but Alhamdulillah, the color science of flowers and botanicals always fascinate me ! 🌸🌺🌼✨👩🏻‍🔬❤️💕

Last year, my son Saifuddin studied abroad in Hong Kong, just like I once did. Last week, we visited Cambridge University in England, where my husband Shahzad studied. And this week, I watched my daughter Jumana study jewelry design in the same FIT classrooms where I once studied fashion design.

When I saw my daughter soldering metals for class, I remembered my mother soldering car radios in my childhood. When I saw my son travel oceans around the world, I remembered how my father once did the same, bravely coming to America.

This past year, both my children started their own businesses while still in school. My son started an innovative AI company, atsolutionsai.com, to help small businesses grow, and my daughter started creating bespoke jewelry pieces. All those years while I was going to school and working, I never realized how much they were watching & learning.

How beautiful and full circle is the pursuit of knowledge, our children have taught us new things from the same classrooms we were once taught. Wherever you are on your journey, I hope my story inspires you to keep on building your dreams and going forward in your pursuit of knowledge.

You never know, one day your children may take you there again too. ❤️🙏
