A year ago, I was just getting back into the flow of cutting regularly after selling all my stuff and giving up on becoming a barber. An opportunity came around for me to finish what I started 4 years prior, and I took it with the goal of finally getting licensed.
There were days I was the only barber with an empty chair all day. I was winging cuts, hoping for the best, losing money, and using my 9–5 to cover bills, booth rent, and equipment. There were definitely times I questioned whether I should just give it up and stick to my 9–5.
I’m glad I didn’t.
A year later, I’m a licensed Master Barber, building a steady clientele, connected with some great people in the industry, affiliated with multiple brands, and surrounded by the best team I’ve worked with at Diesel Barbershop Nexton Sq
