Let's talk about auto-pay memberships, because we get it! ☀️

We know entering into an auto-pay agreement can make people hesitant, especially in a world where some businesses make it nearly impossible to cancel. Between early cancellation fees, confusing policies, and companies telling customers their memberships have been canceled only for another payment to come out, we completely understand why people are cautious about signing up for recurring payments.

We also understand how frustrating it can be when you feel like you don't have control over your own money, which is exactly why we've worked to make our membership process as transparent and straightforward as possible.

Sunny Shores is a membership-based business for several reasons, and we believe in being upfront about those reasons. Having predictable monthly income allows us to plan responsibly, make sure our employees are paid, maintain our equipment, and determine when we're financially ready to invest in new services and expand our offerings. If we operated strictly on pay-as-you-go pricing, that income would be much less predictable, which would ultimately mean higher prices for our customers and fewer opportunities for us to grow into the business we've become today.

That doesn't mean we expect everyone to be comfortable with auto-pay, though! We offer individual sessions and annual passes for customers who prefer not to have recurring payments, because we believe you should have options when it comes to how you enjoy our services.

For those who do choose a membership, we believe you deserve to know exactly what you're agreeing to, what your responsibilities are, and how to make changes when life happens. Our membership agreements clearly outline our policies, including billing, freezing, and cancellation procedures, so you know what to expect before signing anything.

And when it comes to making changes to your account, we believe having everything in writing is just as important as making the process easy.

When you sign up for a membership, you receive an emailed copy of your agreement and the terms you accepted. If you decide to change your membership level, you'll receive documentation confirming that change. If you need to freeze your membership for a specific number of months or indefinitely, you'll receive confirmation of that arrangement and its terms as well.

And if you decide it's time to cancel, we make that process simple too! You can stop into Sunny Shores and sign a cancellation form, or if you can't make it in, our automated chat system on our website can help you complete the process without having to visit us. We also offer this same convenience for freezing! Once your cancellation is processed, you'll receive an emailed confirmation for your records.

Every agreement, change, freeze, and cancellation is documented and emailed to you because we WANT you to have that information!

Not only does this give you something to reference whenever you need it, but it also protects both of us if there's ever a billing error, bank issue, or misunderstanding about what should be happening with your account. Instead of relying on someone's memory or a conversation that took place weeks or months ago, we both have written documentation showing what was agreed upon.

Of course, we have policies in place to help our business operate responsibly, including guidelines surrounding billing dates, freezes, and cancellations. Those policies are important to keeping our services affordable and our business sustainable, but we also believe they're important for protecting our customers by establishing clear expectations on both sides.

We never want someone to feel like they have to jump through hoops just to make a change to their membership, and we certainly don't believe customers should have to fight for proof that they canceled something or requested a change.

Our membership programs have played a huge role in allowing Sunny Shores to grow, invest in better equipment, expand our wellness offerings, and continue providing affordable services to our community. We're incredibly grateful for that support, but we also recognize that trusting a business with recurring access to your money is a big deal, and it's a responsibility we take seriously.

At the end of the day, we believe transparency, flexibility, and written confirmation should be the bare minimum for ANY subscription-based business. ❤️
