Have you ever wondered why your instructor asks you to move the headrest up or down?

It’s much more than a comfort adjustment. The position of the headrest plays an important role in supporting proper alignment, reducing unnecessary tension in the neck, and protecting the cervical spine throughout different exercises. Since every body is different, the right position may not be the same for everyone and that’s exactly why your instructor cues each client individually.

Small details like this make a big difference in your Pilates practice. ✨

Meet Erica one of our amazing members✨

In this video, Nichole teaches the Salutes, a powerful exercise for strengthening the upper back and improving postural awareness.

Rather than relying on the arms alone, the movement is initiated from the muscles between and behind the shoulder blades, encouraging proper scapular stability and upper body support.

For anyone spending long hours sitting, driving, or working at a computer, exercises like Salutes can help counteract the rounded shoulders and forward head posture that have become so common today.

The final breakdown of the Mermaid Series. ✨

Flowing through:
• Snake and Twist
• Presses
• Twisted Swan

This is a version of Snake and Twist that you don’t often see taught. Which was learned directly from Lo**ta San Miguel, this sequence is full of details that completely transform the movement.

Exploring:

• Rotation initiated from the rib cage
• How the eyes guide the movement
• Maintaining space through the shoulder
• Alignment throughout the twist
• Control and strength in the presses
• Length and lift in Twisted Swan
• Completing the series with a counter stretch

One of our favorite concepts Lo**ta teaches is that the eyes take the body into the movement and bring the body back out. When combined with breath, rotation, and extension, the entire series becomes one continuous flow. 🩵

Mermaid on the reformer is an exercise where attention to the smallest details can make a big difference.

In this breakdown we cover:
