Let's talk about Balayage. We see so many "balayage" pics on Pinterest, Google Images, and here on Insta. Why do they all look so different? Sometimes they can give false hope or unrealistic expectations for your next hair appointment.
But do you know the difference between a traditional balayage vrs a foilage?? Was the end result done in 1 appointment or multiple?
Here's a hint...😉👍
If the highlighted end result looks super natural and sun-kissed, chances are it was a traditional, hand painted balayage. Usually done in open air or under wrap or mesh.
If it is a high contrasting highlight, chances are it was done in a foil, or "foilage" to incubate a higher lift.

Both techniques are considered balayage, since balayage simply means "to sweep away" in French, thus referring to the technique, not the lift.

Now there are exceptions to the rule. 1) If the hair was already on the lighter side, like a lighter brown or dark blonde, then these tones naturally will lift higher in one setting with or without the use of foil.
2) If the hair was already pre-lightened at a previous appointment, then it will lift to a higher and brighter tone every blonding appointment after.

Going 💚GREEN💚 is not for everyone! Your skin tone actually plays a huge roll in pulling this shade off. For this particular 💚🦄 we custom created 2 different tones of green for depth but also added a smidge of blue and charcoal to cool it out a little. Also gave her tons of texture in her haircut to show off the different tons and depth.
