The salon won't be the same without my sweet Gypsy girl 💔She was the best dog & she loved greeting all the clients & hanging out with everyone. She was with Zellie & I for 15yrs and 4 salons. My heart is broken. She saw Zels whole childhood, every milestone she's been right there. She's met most of your dogs & your kids, she's probably tried to eat a snack out of your hand, & you all said how cute it was when she'd follow me to the back to watch me mix color. She will be missed so much. Thank you all for being so patient with me having to reschedule. Sorry in advance if I randomly burst into tears during your next haircut. RIP Gypsy Lee West 😥🐾

It's finally almost spring after such a brutal winter! It's a great time to brighten up your hair color! I can't wait to see flowers popping out of the ground instead of gross old piles of snow! Ps I still have a chair for rent if any stylists are looking for a new home!

Just a reminder that hair IS political. I specialize in alternative styles and vivid colors that have always been known as a form of resistance. You don't get to have punk rock neon hair while simultaneously supporting the current administration. My salon is a safe space. You are unwelcome in my chair if you support pedophelia, genocide, gestapo, or any of the other disgusting evil things happening. We need to speak up. "BUt dIXie YoUre a BUsinEss OwNEr" 🙄 Y'all know I don't care about money the same way I care about humans right? Salons have always been important in communities especially in times of turmoil. Barbershops & salons played a huge role assisting in the underground railroad back in the day! You ever notice how all the worst people have terrible hair? (Trump for example 💁🏻‍♀️) That's because you don't get to have cool hair if you're a jerk.

2016 is trending right now so I had to post, because that was the year I turned 30 and opened my salon!!!! That teeny space served me well for 5yrs, until I found the nice location I'm in now. This year I'll turn 40 and my salon will be 10yrs old!! My life has changed completely over the last decade and these throw back pics show you the evolution of Dixies Hair Design. I'm so proud of myself for having a successful business for a whole decade!

Thank you to everyone who donated to the food drive!! This year's winner got her new hair today and we did a nice shiny black with red peekaboos, a fresh cut, and some curls ❤️ Hope everyone has a great holiday!! 🎄☃️

Today we did a drop off for the RI food bank just in time for thanksgiving! Thanks to your help, we were able to fill an entire drop off bin and give $150 in cash to help feed our community!! Let's keep this going! I want to collect another batch this month and drop off again for Xmas. Anyone who donates gets entered into a raffle for free hair!! Thank you all so much!
