This client came in wanting the perfect lashes for an upcoming destination wedding in Kona, Hawaii — but we designed her set with everyday life in mind, too.

We chose an airy hybrid set with soft texture, light density, and just enough definition to make her eyes pop without looking heavy or overly done.

One of the greatest gifts of doing lashes for so many years has been the relationships I’ve built along the way. 🤍

When you see someone every few weeks for years, you share life. You hear about relationships, babies, careers, celebrations, losses, vacations, and everything in between. Some clients naturally become friends, and those relationships mean so much to me.

But something I’ve learned as a small business owner is that friendship and business need healthy boundaries.

My policies apply equally to everyone—including the people I’m closest to.

And in many ways, I believe friendship should create more respect for those boundaries, not less.

Northampton Lashes is how I support my family. Every appointment represents time specifically reserved for someone, and that income pays the bills, rent, supplies, insurance, taxes, education, and everything else required to keep this little business going.

Being close to me personally can’t mean that I’m expected to waive a cancellation fee, change a price, bend a policy, or make an exception that I wouldn’t make for another client.

That doesn’t mean I don’t care about someone’s circumstances. I can have compassion for what someone is experiencing while still maintaining the policies that protect my livelihood.

Both can be true.

And to the clients—and friends—who consistently respect my time, policies, and business: thank you. You’re not just supporting a lash appointment. You’re supporting my family, my livelihood, and something I’ve spent years building.
