Prep details, rinse instructions, aftercare, tan preventatives, and education most people never even think about when getting a spray tan.

But there’s a reason for every single detail.

From the very beginning, I’ve believed the best results aren’t just about the application, technique, bronzer tones, or customizing color theory for each client. They’re about understanding your skin—your products, medications, hormones, pH balance, and lifestyle. Every one of those factors can influence your final result, and I still stand by that completely.

For example, timing your prep matters. I’ve always recommended exfoliating, shaving, and dry brushing at least 24 hours before your appointment—not the day of, and definitely not right before your tan. Giving your skin time to return to its most balanced state helps create a smoother, more even canvas for the best possible outcome.
