When I started Lily Lotus, I thought I was building a place where I could do what I love and give my clients the kind of experience I wanted them to have.

I don’t think I realized then how much more it would become.

Over the years, I’ve gotten to know so many of you beyond your skin or the service you booked. I’ve heard about your kids, your relationships, your jobs, your celebrations, your losses, and all the little things happening in between.

And now, Lily Lotus has grown beyond just me. I get to watch my team build those same relationships with their clients. I get to create a place where people can build careers doing something they love, while creating a space our clients actually look forward to coming to.

So when someone asks what I “make” as a small business owner, of course there’s the obvious answer.

But I think I’ve made something much bigger than that.

I’ve made relationships. A community. A team. A place where people feel comfortable, cared for, and can shut the rest of the world out for a little while.

And somehow, what started as my little business has become something that means so much more to me than I ever expected.

Especially as I’m getting ready to open the doors to this next chapter of Lily Lotus, I don’t take any of it for granted.

You guys are the reason I get to keep building this.

It’s so much more than “just a facial”. Do you agree?

For what felt like FOREVER… we had no walls.

This stage of construction was probably one of the most frustrating for me because we were putting so much time, work and money into this building, but visually it still felt like we were so far away.

But looking back at these pictures now, there was actually SO much happening.

What you’re seeing is the framing for a new layout designed to give us more treatment rooms with the ability to accommodate more clients.

There is so much happening between those studs and above that ceiling that you’ll eventually never see.

A completely new HVAC system was installed from scratch because air quality was incredibly important to me. I wanted clean, properly filtered air circulating through the spa, not an old system carrying years of dust, debris or potential mold spores.

We upgraded the electrical throughout the building. Plumbing was run to 7 regular sinks and 3 headspa units throughout the spa. The old drop ceiling came down and new framing went up so we could have actual drywall ceilings. And above all of this? A brand new roof.

These were the bones of the new Lily Lotus.

And after staring through these studs for what felt like an eternity, I was VERY ready for the next phase… actual walls.

And I can finally say THEY’RE UP.

But I’m not showing you those just yet. You’ll have to keep watching. 👀

A little throwback to one of the BIGGEST (and most expensive ) parts of this entire renovation… the plumbing.

When you’re turning an existing building into a spa, you need plumbing… EVERYWHERE. Every treatment room needs water, our Head Spa requires multiple plumbing connections, plus bathrooms, a shower, laundry, kitchenette, lounge…the list goes on.

The problem? Our entire building sits on a concrete slab. 🫠

So adding all of that plumbing meant cutting and breaking through the concrete floors, digging trenches throughout the building, running what felt like miles of pipe underneath, and then filling and sealing everything back up again.

SO much work and SO much money… just to eventually cover it all up and never see it again.

I don’t think I fully understood the amount of work that would go into transforming this building into Lily Lotus 3.0 until we were in it.

These photos and videos are actually from a while ago and we are MUCH further along now! I’ve just been focusing on this new expansion so much that I’ve been terrible about sharing the process.
