☀️ May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month 💛
and this week, The Skin Cancer Foundation in New York City reminded me why sun protection is so much more than just esthetics.
🌻 As an esthetician, one of my goals is to bring awareness to my clients and my community about the importance of protecting our skin every single day
🤩I had the opportunity to receive a full body skin screening with Dr. Karen Burke, who shared something very important:
👉🏼 around 80% of skin cancer cases are linked to accumulated sun damage over time.
Not just from beach days… but from everyday exposure ☀️
Especially in areas we often forget to protect:
behind the ears, neck, chest, scalp, hands, and around the eyes.
This is your reminder to:
✨ Wear your SPF daily
✨ Reapply every 90 minutes when exposed to the sun
✨ Pay attention to new moles, freckles, or spots that change in color, shape, or size
✨ Schedule your skin checks with a dermatologist 1–2 times a year
Knowing your skin is part of self-care too 🤍
