🙏🏻
It is so easy to find what is wrong.
We do it with our bodies, with other people, with our lives. We notice the ache before we notice everything that is functioning. We notice the difficult moment before we notice the thousand quiet moments that held us.
Not to deny that there isn’t suffering. Not to pretend everything is okay. But to remember that suffering is not the whole story.
There is also Health.
There is stillness beneath the agitation.
There is breath beneath the fear.
There is presence beneath the story.
There is something within us that has not been harmed by every difficult thing that has happened.
Perhaps our practice today is very simple:
Instead of asking, “What is wrong?”
pause long enough to ask, “What is right?”
And then be still enough to notice it. 💜💚
Good daily movements
Inside the stillness, A mystery within us all
I love this work, grateful to be part of this cohort, and excited for this level!

💜 The Sphenoid Bone: The “Keystone” of the Cranium
“When the center releases, the whole system can change.” 💜
The sphenoid bone is one of the most important bones in the body that most people have never heard of.
Often called the “keystone of the cranium,” it connects with every other cranial bone and sits deep behind the eyes, nose, and cheeks. Because of its central location, restrictions around the sphenoid can influence far more than the head and face.
When fascial restrictions surrounding the sphenoid begin to release through gentle, sustained John F. Barnes Myofascial Release, people may experience changes in:
✨ Headaches and migraines
✨ TMJ pain and jaw tension
✨ Eye strain and visual fatigue
✨ Sinus congestion
✨ Ear pressure or ringing
✨ Neck pain and stiffness
✨ Balance and dizziness issues
✨ Cranial and facial asymmetries
✨ Nervous system regulation
The sphenoid is also closely connected to the dura, cranial nerves, jaw, palate, tongue, and upper cervical spine.
When the sphenoid is under tension, the entire craniosacral and fascial system may compensate.
As John Barnes taught, healing doesn’t come from forcing tissues into place.
The body changes when restrictions are met with patience, safety, and sustained pressure.
Sometimes releasing tension around the sphenoid creates a sense of spaciousness throughout the head, jaw, neck, and even the entire body.
The body functions as one interconnected fascial system.
When the center begins to change, everything connected to it has the opportunity to change as well.
💜 Healing is not about fixing the body. It’s about creating the conditions for the body to heal itself.

The thoracic spine is notorious for having poor mobility. Regular stretching usually isn't good enough. Targeting the spine itself, as opposed to the muscles, is usually more productive. Try this. Roll up a towel until you get a roll about 4" in diameter. You can even put tape around it to get it to hold its shape. Lay on your back with the rolled towel under your thoracic spine (anywhere from about T4-T12) oriented left/right. Have something under your head for support. Lay there for a couple minutes, breathing into the area, then move on to another area. This helps open up the joints of the spine, stretching the ligaments, and bringing in good blood flow. Do it daily.
