Finishing up the appointments I still have left on the books, and today I took a 7AM appointment just to work around a client’s work schedule. I had to tell her that unfortunately, this would be her last appointment with me. She was extremely disappointed.

She told me how hard it is going to be to find someone who actually cares about her schedule. Someone who doesn’t require deposits, doesn’t charge late fees or cancellation fees every single time life happens, doesn’t fire her as a client because she had to cancel once, and will squeeze her in when she needs it without adding some extra “squeeze in” fee.

That right there is why I was successful.

I ran my business with grace. I understood that people have jobs, kids, trips, emergencies, bad days, and real lives. I never wanted my clients to feel like a dollar sign. If someone came in missing more lashes than expected, I still charged them for a fill instead of automatically forcing a full set price on them. If someone needed me to work around their schedule, I tried. If someone needed grace, I gave it.

And because I gave grace, most of my clients gave it back to me. They knew if there was something I needed to tighten up, I would. They knew my heart. They knew I cared.

The hard part is that as you continue to grow and your life starts moving in different directions, sometimes people’s tolerance for you changes. People can become unforgiving.

That is one thing this chapter taught me.

I know I will be missed. Not because I was perfect, but because I cared. I was flexible. I tried. I looked at the person in front of me as a human being first.

And in an industry where so many people feel unseen, overcharged, rushed, or treated like a number, that mattered.

I know I was a gem in this industry, and I’m proud of the way I did business.

But even gems are allowed to move on.

This chapter was beautiful. It was successful. And now it is complete. 🤍

Never give the outside world a remote control to your inside world. We have to learn that people sometimes are more interested in ur emotional reactions than the situation itself. You have to walk in any door guarding your joy and deciding your emotional state before walking into any room. Decide how you feel based on who you are and how you value yourself. OWN & PROTECT your mood. They never belong to anybody, not your coworkers, not even your spouse. YOU be joyful anyway. 🙏🤍

When I closed my salon, my original plan was to completely step away from beauty services. I made that decision at 29 because I knew I did not want to enter my 30s still building my life around being “the lash girl” or “the brow girl.”

I’m proud of what I built. I stayed busy, built amazing relationships with clients, and created something that supported me for years.

The hardest part of walking away was never the money. It was my clients.

I kept trying to make beauty fit into a life that was already moving in another direction.

My life is changing. I’m still working on things behind the scenes, and I want more room for my marriage, the family I want to build, my health, my home, and what I’m creating next.

I’m also in a season where I’m grateful to have more stability and support, and I don’t feel the need to keep chasing every dollar just because I can make it.

So I’m officially stepping away from offering beauty services. I will no longer have a booking site, take clients, or operate.

Sometimes growth means having the courage to walk away from something that is still working because you know you are no longer meant to stay there.

This was a major part of my story, but it was never meant to be my whole story.

I’m choosing what’s next. 🤍
