Just returning from Phoenix where .angela and presented our findings regarding the minimum detectable asymmetry in various facial features, and our approach to a tough challenge in nasal surgery. Congrats to on winning second place in the poster competition! š„
Our patient came to us after a devastating motorcycle accident left him with complete facial nerve paralysis. Through a combination of hypoglossal nerve transfer and masseter nerve transfer, the hope is to give him a roadmap back to smile, movement, and confidence.
Facial reanimation is one of the most meaningful procedures we perform ā because a smile isnāt just cosmetic. Itās how we connect with the world.
When choosing a facial plastic surgeon, consider whether they operate across the full spectrum of facial procedures ā cosmetic and reconstructive ā and whether theyāre the surgeon other surgeons call when things get complex. At Rush, thatās the standard we hold ourselves to every day.

Three months into her revision rhinoplasty journey
This patient came to see me after undergoing a rhinoplasty outside of the United States that unfortunately left her with significant nasal deformity and severe breathing difficulty. During her prior surgery, much of the structural support of her nose including the nasal bones and upper lateral cartilages had been removed, leaving her nose both collapsed and functionally compromised.
Revision surgery required carefully releasing extensive scar tissue between the skin and the underlying nasal framework. To rebuild the missing support, we used cartilage grafts harvested from her rib to reconstruct the nasal bones and upper lateral cartilages, restoring both structure and airflow.
At just 3 months post-op, she is already breathing significantly better and her nose has regained a more natural contour. Revision rhinoplasty is a long healing process, and it can take up to 2 years to see the final resultābut her early progress is incredibly encouraging.
Iām grateful she trusted me to be part of her healing journey and to help restore both function and confidence.
This beautiful patient requested a dramatic profile change while preserving a natural, balanced appearance.
Her primary goals:
⢠Reduce the dorsal hump
⢠Refine the nasal tip
⢠Minimize nostril show
By preserving rotation and avoiding unnecessary elevation, we achieved a smooth, elegant contour with meaningful yet harmonious change.
Dramatic improvement. Natural result.
Of course, healing varies and individual results differ.

This beautiful patient came in concerned about a prominent dorsal hump and a lack of tip refinement. During our consultation, we had an in-depth discussion about her goals ā she wanted a dramatic change to her profile, but a key priority was minimizing nostril show while achieving her transformation.
By preserving rotation and avoiding unnecessary elevation, we were able to deliver a smooth, elegant profile with powerful yet balanced change.
The result is dramatic in contour, yet natural in appearance ā enhancing her features without compromising her individuality. Iām truly grateful to be part of her journey and to help bring her vision to life in a thoughtful, precise way.
Of course everyone heals differently and individual results vary. This post does not constitute medical advice.

This beautiful nurse colleague came in hoping for a natural refinement - specifically a reduced dorsal hump and a straighter appearance on the front view. A previous nasal breathing surgery left her with loss of nasal support and deviation. Our goal was to honor her facial harmony while subtly enhancing what was already there.
Her result shows a softer profile, improved balance, and a nose that fits herāwithout looking ādone.ā Iām grateful to be part of her journey and am consistently humbled when other healthcare providers who are āin the knowā choose me as their surgeon.

One day after surgery and already with a remarkable neck transformation!
This patient underwent a limited delamination, deep plane face and neck lift with no additional procedures. Already she demonstrates a huge improvement in neck contour, jowling, jawline definition, and overall skin quality.
While facial rejuvenation is often best approached with a combination of treatments, this case is a powerful example of what a single, well planned procedure can achieve.
Iām grateful to be a part of this patientās journey, and canāt wait to share the full studio photos soon.
