To all of my clients, I will need to limit my hours from now until the end of September. Unfortunately, Aaron and I were impacted horribly by the flood. As we work to get back to normal and prepare for October, I will be limited to most Mondays and Tuesdays, as well as occasional Saturdays in September. Some appointments may need to be rescheduled as well but I will do my best to reach out ahead of time. Please forgive me if it has been hard to get in contact with me over the last couple of days and for continued difficulties over the next few days ahead. We are hoping to be done with the immediate issues by next week so I should be more available by then.

Started my day with a pumpkin spiced latte, ended it with this beautiful lived in copper. 🍂 Shout out to Redken for having such a *mindful* copper selection in shades eq, and shout out to Jenn for spending a whole shift with me to get this accomplished.

I love that I get to go through life with you all. Thank you for trusting me with your hair and your hearts. So many of you have watched me go from being a newly wed/brand new baby stylist to a mom and business owner (and everything in between). It’s truly so special that y’all have supported me through so much change. Thank you. 🤍

I loved my space so much and poured so much into making it cozy and welcoming, but I’m also SO excited to be back in a full salon environment (still my own boss) with an awesome team and a new journey to look forward to! We’ve been growing out her bob and now it’s so long and healthy!

After a few months with my new best friend, I’m back in the salon! I’m trying to message everyone to get you all on the schedule, but this is my official “I’m back” post. ☺️ Please feel free to send me a message to get something on the books, but also please be patient if I don’t respond right away—my little one is taking up a lot of my attention right now and I am doing my best to get to everybody. I’m so excited to see you all again!

This post is mostly for my clients who might be afraid to use olaplex because of claims they’ve seen online and for anyone who loves hair products… I love olaplex and it has made me really sad to see other companies drag them through the mud. The biggest things to note and address about olaplex are:
- it isn’t a super moisturizing line unless you add their stylers or moisture mask. It’s goal is to repair broken bonds in the hair and make it stronger. SO if you feel like your hair is dry, you gotta add a moisture product into your routine.
- most people who use olaplex have lightened hair, which automatically compromises it. If you feel like your hair is breaking off, maybe you’re overdoing it with the chemical services. I’ve seen too many stylists be really aggressive with their blondes, use olaplex as a crutch, and then blame olaplex for the breakage when really the breakage would probably be worse if they hadn’t used it in the first place.
- We’re coming out of an incredibly stressful time. People were struck financially and emotionally from all of the shut downs. Some people lost loved ones, some people lost their businesses, some people are literally afraid to go into public now, and some people just couldn’t handle the stress of being told they couldn’t go out or that it was constantly unsafe. Stress = telogen effluvium (hair loss due to stress—the same kind of hair loss women experience postpartum).
- olaplex has a patent and a lot of companies have tried to get their hands on it. Since they can’t, they’ve come out with marketing that claims their own products do what olaplex does and then they drag down olaplex and have made false accusations. I think there are going to be defamation suits pretty soon...
