Oh, you thought we were done celebrating trailblazing women? Think again! ✨ We’re back with more iconic Black women who changed the beauty game in the 90s and continue to inspire us today. These pioneers not only made history—they shaped the future of beauty.

1 .Tippi Shorter – Known for her iconic work with Alicia Keys and Rihanna, Tippi became one of the top hairstylists in the 90s, elevating textured hair and celebrating natural beauty in music and media.

2. Renee Garnes – A celebrated makeup artist, Renee made her mark by working with legends like Whitney Houston and Janet Jackson, helping to create some of the most iconic beauty looks of the era.

3. Francisca Tolot – Celebrity makeup artist Francisca Tolot made waves in the 90s with her stunning makeup artistry, working with A-list stars like Beyoncé and helping shape the beauty trends of the time.

4. Eunice Johnson – Founder of Fashion Fair Cosmetics, Eunice Johnson created a beauty brand in 1973 that catered to the specific needs of Black women, making her a true pioneer in the industry.

Today, we honor the women who broke barriers, set trends, and redefined beauty standards in the 90s. These iconic Black women made their mark in the beauty industry, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire us all.

1.Lisa Price – Founder of Carol’s Daughter, Lisa started her journey in her Brooklyn kitchen, creating natural products that catered to Black women’s beauty needs. By the late 90s, her brand was a household name in the beauty world.

2.Beverly Johnson – A trailblazer who became the first Black woman to appear on the cover of Vogue in 1974. Throughout the 90s, Beverly empowered women with her haircare line and legacy as a supermodel.

3.Pat McGrath – The legendary makeup artist known for her work with top designers like Prada and Dior. Pat’s artistry set the foundation for her own beauty empire, Pat McGrath Labs, solidifying her as a leading force in the beauty world.

4.Iman – Supermodel and entrepreneur, Iman changed the beauty industry by launching IMAN Cosmetics in 1994, creating products for women of color when the beauty industry lacked diversity.

5.Kim Kimble – Celebrity hairstylist to icons like Beyoncé and Mary J. Blige, Kimble became known for her innovative styles and later launched her own line of haircare products, becoming a staple in the beauty and entertainment world.

6.Mikki Taylor – As Beauty & Cover Editor at Essence magazine, Mikki Taylor was pivotal in shaping Black beauty representation in media throughout the 90s, ensuring that Black women’s beauty was both celebrated and accurately portrayed.
