FRIDAY FRONT PORCH — Finish the sentence!
You know you need a massage when...
____________________________.
I'll start:
When you turn your whole BODY instead of your neck to back out of the driveway. 😂
Or...
When your shoulders have officially moved into your ears and apparently plan on staying there.
Your turn!
👇 **You know you need a massage when ________.**
Funny answers encouraged.
Actually...funny answers REQUIRED. 😂
Let's see who wins this Friday.

YOUR BODY IS TALKING:
Shoulder Edition
Do something for me.
Right now.
Drop your shoulders.
..
Did they move? 👀😂
If they did, you might be carrying a little more tension than you realized.
We tend to tense our shoulders when we're:
😬 Stressed
💻 Working at a computer
📱 Looking at our phones
🚗 Driving
🥶 Cold
🤯 Overwhelmed
And sometimes we've been doing it for so long that "tight" starts feeling normal.
Try this today:
Drop your shoulders.
Take a slow breath.
Roll them backward a few times.
Move your neck gently from side to side.
Then check yourself again later.
You might be surprised how quickly those shoulders creep right back up. 😂
Your body doesn't always need something complicated.
Sometimes it just needs you to **notice it.**
💬 Where do YOU carry stress first?
Shoulders? Jaw? Neck? Back? Headaches?
I'm curious!

☕ **MONDAY CHECK-IN… but you have to be honest.**
How much do you actually have together this morning? 😂
A. Dressed, organized, coffee drank — I am UNSTOPPABLE.
B. I'm doing okay, but nobody ask too much of me.
C. I've reheated the same cup of coffee three times.
D. I'm physically here. Mentally? Still Saturday.
E. I opened my calendar and immediately regretted it.
F. Jesus knows my heart. That's all I have to say. 😂🙏
Some Mondays we conquer the world.
Other Mondays we congratulate ourselves because everybody made it out of the house wearing pants.
**Both count.** 😂
👇 Drop your letter below. I want to see how the Front Porch is doing today!

🍂 **THE FRONT PORCH — OCTOBER**
**Letting Go & Making Room**
I've been thinking about the trees lately.
Every fall, they do something we're not always very good at...
**They let go.**
They don't fight to hold onto every leaf.
They don't wonder if letting go means they failed.
They simply release what has finished its season and trust that, in time, something new will grow.
And goodness...maybe we could learn a little something from that. ❤️
How many things are we still carrying that we were never meant to carry forever?
A mistake we made years ago.
Someone else's opinion of us.
Guilt over something we can't go back and change.
A friendship that has run its course.
The need to make everybody happy.
Anger we've held onto for far too long.
The version of our life we thought we'd have by now.
Or maybe just the pressure to have everything figured out.
Sometimes we hold on so tightly to what WAS that our hands aren't open for what God is trying to give us NEXT.
And I don't know about you...
But I'm ready to make a little room. 🍂
Room for peace.
Room for joy.
Room for new memories.
Room for different dreams.
Room for people who pour back into us.
Room for grace.
And most importantly...
**Room for God to work.**
So that's what we're talking about here on the Front Porch this October.
Not just massage.
We're going to talk about the things our **bodies carry**, the things our **hearts carry**, and maybe even some things it's finally time to put down.
We'll laugh too—because we're definitely not spending an entire month being serious. 😂
But my hope is that by the end of October, maybe we're all walking into the next season just a little lighter than we entered it.
So I'm starting with you...
🍂 **If you could leave ONE thing behind this October, what would it be?**
You don't owe anyone the whole story.
One word is enough.
I'll put mine in the comments too. ❤️
📖 *"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."* — 1 Peter 5:7
Here's to letting go of what was...
Making room for what is...
And trusting God with what's still to come. 🤎

💆♀️ **"WHY DOES IT HURT THERE?! I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THAT WAS SORE!"**
If you've ever said this during a massage…you're definitely not alone. 😂
One of the interesting things about our bodies is that where we FEEL discomfort isn't always the only area involved.
Muscles work together.
Your posture matters.
The way you sit matters.
Your repetitive movements matter.
Even how you hold your phone can matter. 📱
Sometimes an area has been tight for so long that you've simply gotten used to it.
Then I put a little pressure there and suddenly…
👀
"Ohhhh…THAT'S tender."
😂
That's one reason I love what I do.
Massage isn't only about relaxing for an hour.
It's also an opportunity to become more aware of your body and where you're carrying tension.
And don't worry…
If you suddenly say, **"I didn't even know I had a muscle there!"**
I've probably heard that one before too. 😂❤️
💬 Have you ever discovered a sore spot during a massage that you didn't even know you had?

❤️ **For the person who feels like they're starting over…**
Maybe this isn't where you thought you'd be.
Maybe the plan changed.
Maybe a door closed.
Maybe something you worked really hard for didn't work out.
Or maybe you're simply realizing it's time for something different.
Starting over can feel a lot like failure when you're standing in the middle of it.
But I've learned something…
Sometimes God isn't taking you backward.
**He's redirecting you.**
There are things in my own life that didn't happen the way I thought they would—and looking back, I'm thankful they didn't.
Because they led me somewhere I never would've planned for myself.
So don't be ashamed of the new beginning.
You haven't lost everything you've learned along the way.
You're starting again with experience, strength, wisdom, and a God who already knows where this road leads. ❤️
📖 *"See, I am doing a new thing!"* — Isaiah 43:19
Maybe your next chapter won't look anything like the one you planned.
Maybe it'll be better. 🌻
