Huge blonde transformation! She had long thick hair down her back so it took us several hours to do this. Started the process with a full platinum card in foils, mixing probably 5-6 bowls of lightener throughout - one, because of how much hair she had, and two, the varying developer volumes necessary depending on the section and starting level. Used the new Redken Acidic Bonding concentrate system throughout to maintain the integrity of her hair. After we got her to the proper level of lightness, I did a gloss all over to tone out any unwanted warmth. Blow dry, then a root tap combed through some pieces to add proper dimension for a clean grow-out. Finished off with a healthy trim and blowout. 💛💛💛

I am especially proud of this before and after color correction I did. My client’s mother was visiting from NY and does not want to worry about coloring her hair every 3 weeks blonde anymore. She had tried box lighteners which is what got her to that brassy color on the left, along with about 6 months of rootage for me to work with. The process began by separating the hair into small sections and balayage technique with lightener to lift out the yellow. I used Wella Blondor with 20 volume, careful to leave her salt and pepper base intact. Let process until super pale blonde, full shades eq gloss to remove any warmth, and then a silver overlay using Matrix Socult Disco Silver. We then dried her hair and I examined her salt/pepper pattern, to which I applied a lowlight to match her darker pieces. Redken chemistry shots and deep conditioning, and finally a healthy cut with some nice feathered layers. This process took me about 4 hours and cost about $400. It is a huge chemical process and not just a color that I “slap on” as you guys like to call it lol. Now this lady can get her hair done whenever she chooses to get a few brighter silver pieces/trim rather than a huge overhaul every single salon visit. Also... I advised her to use a sulfate free shampoo once a week, cold water, little to no heat and ALWAYS heat protectant. Even just to block UV rays from the sun which can be damaging.
