The primary objective of West Coast Barber College is to provide students with a comprehensive course of instruction that includes haircutting, hairstyling, shaving, rest facial, and all services that may be requested by a patron in a barber shop or salon. Students will also learn to perform services like coloring, chemical relaxing, perms, scientific scalp massage and proper shampoo procedure. Our mission is to prepare our students to be creative and skillful barbers, and train our students to pass the state board exam. We will also promote the continuing educational growth of the faculty, using current teaching methods and techniques. Prior to entering the barbering profession, graduates are required to complete a thorough examination of skills and knowledge given by the State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology, under the California Department of Consumer Affairs. Licensed graduates will therefore be qualified to serve the general public in all phases of the Barbering profession and related occupations

✂️ FROM MANNEQUIN TO MAIN FLOOR! 💈
Our freshman students are putting in the work! 🔥
Before they step onto the main floor and begin working with the public, our students spend time mastering the fundamentals on mannequin heads — practicing shear work, long hair techniques, sectioning, control, and precision.
This hands-on training allows them to build confidence, develop proper technique, and learn the importance of taking their time and paying attention to detail.

West Coast Barber College is giving back to our community! 🎒📚
On August 12th from 10 AM–4 PM, our students will be providing FREE haircuts to help students look and feel their best for the new school year.

✂️ Career Day at Vista High School ✂️
West Coast Barber College had an amazing time visiting Vista High School for Career Day! We had the opportunity to introduce students to the art of barbering and share what the barbering industry is all about.
Students got a chance to explore clipper cutting, watch live demonstrations, and even try their hand at doing a few haircuts themselves. It’s always inspiring to see young people discover that barbering is not just a skill — it’s a creative career path full of opportunity, entrepreneurship, and community.
Thank you to Vista High School for welcoming us and allowing us to inspire the next generation of barbers. Who knows… some of these students might be the future of the industry! 💈
