When I was a little girl growing up my siblings and I were apart of the 4-H club...a program for we attended for less fortunate children growing up in the projects. The 4-H club was ran and operated by a phenomenal community leader by the name of Leola Graves. I remember she would put together this huge event in celebration of Juneteenth every year. Our community came out in huge way with vendors, tail gating, field games, basketball tournaments, talent shows , and so much more. As I grew older I didn’t think about as often or it just went less noticed...but today I stand in solidarity with Juneteenth recognizing this day as a NATIONAL HOLIDAY. ✊🏾
