My official last day before my maternity leave is April 4th (as long as all continues to go well, any changes will be communicated as such) that means all of my availability consists between now and April 4th and it’s getting slim so Ive been recommending prebooking your appointments if possible! If not obviously one of the other girls can get you taken care of in the meantime til I’m back. My plan is to be back around june, and that will come with a temporary schedule change that is yet to be announced but will be soon once I sort out a few loose ends!

⚡️THE ANATOMY OF A CORRECTLY INSTALLED SYNTHETIC DREADLOCK EXTENSION⚡️
There’s three important points to a successful synthetic install - the foundation, the method, and the finishing.
- The foundation being the root in which the dreadlock is supported. Section size in correlation with the hairs type and density is the what ensures it’s a protective style. If the section is too thin to support the synthetic it could lead to tension bumps, breakage, and premature shedding which will no longer consider it a protective style!! Section should also be consistently shaped and neat. I personally always go for a square sectioning as I find it most supportive.
- The method being the way your hair is attached to the synthetic dreadlock. This is a very opinion based matter for most locticians, personally I prefer the blanket stitch braid for both longevity and security of the style! My clients turn around time ranges anywhere between 6-10 weeks between installs🤩
- the finishing being the way your hair is secured into the braid. Again, this is SUPER important for both protection and longevity of the style! At we use a soft, elastic string that gets hand tied into your hair vs the classic hair rubberband. Not only is this more gentle on the fragile ends of your hair thus protecting them further, but it is also quicker for us to secure (making your install appointment only about 1.5-2hrs total) and also lasts the full duration of wear without breaking even in extreme temperatures, activities, swimming, ect.

As many have noticed by now, 2026 marked the end of my dreadlock journey🖤 about 6.5 years ago I went into craving change with an open mind and an open heart. And in that moment, the universe aligned and my life completely changed. I would not be where I am if I had not made that decision, I am both the person and the stylist I am today all because of my dread journey and the two ladies who made it happen. I will be forever indebted to them for taking a chance on me and teaching me everything I know to this day.🥹 I am beyond thankful for the opportunities I’ve been given, the love and support I have received, and the connections I’ve made. Having dreadlocks was more than just a style and more than me just liking them, it became completely centered around my life, my career and my personal view of myself. I’ve been asked why I ultimately made the decision, it’s been a bit of an adjustment and wasn’t an easy decision or process but I do believe hair holds onto energy, so in a way this was my way of letting go of the last 6+ years and opening myself up to new energy and growth for the new year! Heres to all good things for 2026✨
