Hi friends!
My name is Claire, I’m the owner and Master Loctician here at the Grateful Dread.
I’ve been on my dreadlock journey for 6 years and have enjoyed every moment of it.
In 2018, after traveling to Utah to a music festival and meeting the ladies at who run their dreadlock salon in Ogden, UT. They inspired me, and thus the Grateful Dread was created.It’s been a wild ride since. Starting small on my husband’s hair, friends, a few clients in my basement, my first salon, second, and third (doubling in size!) I’ve been at Image studios just over a year and love the space I’ve created. Or well, my mom designed just for me, and made it absolute perfection!
I specialize in all hair types & textures. Have spent hours training, learning (sometimes messing up and trying again - if you’re one of those client’s thanks for sticking it out! 😉)
I love to meet all my fellow dread headies, start new journeys, and even meet those who aren’t quite ready to commit but are considering. I am grateful for ALL my clients, new, old, been here since the start, came last week.

Happy Weber Wednesday! Saturday September 14th we will be hosting our annual Historical Architecture Tour. We will see some Historical Ogden buildings with areas that aren't open to the public. One of these is the Old Post Office Building, finished in 1909. Come explore the original lobby and ride the AMAZING elevator up to the ballroom/old courtroom. The 106-year-old Otis passenger lift is one of Utah’s oldest elevators. It's a must see for lovers of architecture. For more info please see our post a few days ago. See you the 14th!
