Happy Valentine’s Day, lovers! ♥️
For a brief moment, I dipped my toes into the wedding world—styling brides alongside my incredibly talented friend . It was short-lived but so much fun, especially getting to collaborate on shoots like this one. One of our models landed the cover, which was a sweet surprise!
In the spirit of love and romance, here are a few behind-the-scenes from that fun day in 2016 with . Grateful for creative friends and beautiful memories!

What do you think qualifies someone as a specialist?
I have some ideas, but they are just that—ideas. I could never label myself as a specialist because I know there’s always someone out there doing it better than me, and there’s exponential room to grow within my skill set.
What I do know is that, even though I’m not a “curly hair specialist,” I am experienced in cutting all types of hair. And while I don’t consider being good at my job a specialty, it does feel like a special moment when I can give someone a new shape they’ve never been able to get from another stylist before.
Well, isn’t that special? —Church Lady

Went all in with a new shape for this beautifully smart and sweet new client.
I hovered the diffuser for an effortless air dried look to mimic a low maintenance style at home starting with Mr. Smith Leave In and layering Davines Curl Building Serum.
It’s always fun for me to see what texture is revealed with a cut that is tailored to wavy, curly hair. I think my clients enjoy it too 😉

Someone recently mentioned when a client asks them to cut their hair from long to short it’s just like Christmas morning and I have to agree. I get so excited to create new shapes, work with your natural texture and accentuate your features. Like, hello to Emily’s cheekbones 💀 Where were you hiding?!!
A question I get a lot with cutting is how often should I come in and get my hair cut and that timeframe can vary.
▪️For shorter lengths, you will see your shape changing and possibly more bulk and weight building up within that first month so 4-6 weeks is a great routine to keep it fresh.
▪️Mid lengths tend to have a bit more versatility with grow out and styling and can easily fall within the 6-8 week refresh timeline.
▪️Long layers, as we know, are the most low maintenance so to keep your ends looking healthy and your cut feeling light and bouncy anywhere between 8-12 weeks is perfect depending of your preference of grow out and hair heath.
