We took her faded red and brought it ALLLL the way back to life! She wanted it as bright and bold as we could get it, so we refreshed her red from root to ends and added some black peekaboos underneath for a little extra fun 🖤

Hi friends! 🫶🏼 I’ve noticed some new faces around here lately, so I figured it was time to introduce myself again!

My name is Lani, and I am the stylist behind Cowlicks by Lani. ✂️🤎

I started barbering school in 2024 and officially obtained my license in 2026. I now work at Styles Unlimited in OKC, and I’m currently building my clientele and growing every single day.

So, if you’ve been looking for a new stylist, here are 10 reasons why I think you should trust me with your hair:

1. Your hair integrity comes FIRST.
I’m not interested in rushing the process just to get your hair as light as possible in one appointment. If getting to your dream hair takes multiple sessions, I’m going to tell you that. I’ll be realistic about what your hair can safely handle, protect its integrity along the way, and help you create a plan to reach your end goal without sacrificing the health of your hair.

2. I take my time with you.
I’m still newer to the industry and actively building my clientele, which means I’m not trying to rush you out of my chair to squeeze in the next appointment. For most major transformations, I block out a LARGE portion of my day. I want enough time to work carefully, make adjustments when needed, and give you the attention you deserve.

3. I’ll work with your schedule.
I have regular salon hours, but I understand that those hours don’t work for everyone. Need an evening appointment? A weekend? Something outside my normal schedule? ASK ME! If I can make it work, I absolutely will.

4. I’m down for the project. 👀
Platinum cards? Lived-in blondes? Dimensional color? Gray blending? Fashion colors? A total transformation? YES. Send me the inspiration pictures, tell me your crazy idea, and let’s figure out how we can bring it to life.

5. I want good hair to be affordable.
I genuinely want my services to be manageable for real people with real budgets. If you have a specific budget, TELL ME! There is absolutely no embarrassment in saying, “This is what I can spend.” Show me what you love, tell me what you’re comfortable spending, and we can figure out what’s achievable within that budget.

6. I’m human — and I’ll always be honest with you.
I’m still learning, growing, and perfecting my craft. Hair can also be unpredictable. Previous color history, medications, hormones, minerals in your water, products used at home, and chemical reactions can all affect how hair responds.

I will never pretend that I know exactly how something will turn out when there are variables we can’t control. What I CAN promise is that I’ll communicate with you throughout the process, own my work, and do everything I can to make it right if something doesn’t turn out the way either of us hoped.

7. My chair is a judgment-free zone. 🫶🏼
I don’t care who you are, what you do, what you look like, how long it’s been since you washed your hair, or what happened during your last hair appointment.

My job is to take care of the person sitting in my chair and hopefully help you leave feeling a little happier and more confident than when you walked in.

8. You’ll never hurt my feelings by speaking up.
PLEASE tell me what you like and what you don’t! Want another inch off? Don’t love where that piece is laying? Think the toner is too warm? Changed your mind about something? SAY IT.

I would much rather you communicate with me while you’re sitting in my chair than go home wishing you had. This is YOUR hair. You are allowed to have an opinion about it!

9. I’m constantly learning. 📚✂️
Getting my license wasn’t the finish line — it was the starting point. I’m constantly researching, practicing, learning new techniques, asking questions, and finding ways to become a better stylist.

This industry changes constantly, and I never want to become the stylist who thinks they already know everything.

10. I genuinely care about the experience you have in my chair. 🤎
To me, doing hair isn’t just about the before-and-after picture.

I want you to feel comfortable asking questions. I want you to understand what I’m doing to your hair and why. I want us to laugh, talk, sit in silence, or whatever makes YOU comfortable.

And most importantly, I want you to leave my chair excited about your hair.

I’m still building. I’m still learning. I’m still growing.

But I care deeply about the work I put out, the people who trust me enough to sit in my chair, and the stylist I’m becoming.
