Let’s talk ✨box dye and lightening hair at home✨

Did you know even if box dye says to be ammonia free or contains moisturizing ingredients it STILL contains high concentrations of metallic salts, ammonia and peroxide which is still damaging overtime?

Did you know at home lighteners can be so unpredictable because it contains generalized ingredients that may not react the same as professional lighter mixed specifically for your hair?

Today this sweet girl tried to get her hair done at home and it went south pretty quickly. Luckily with a good haircut, a fresh color and a deep conditioning treatment she was able to walk out with length and a beautiful color! 🙌🏼
Something like this looks like it’d be simple but this took me almost 6 hours of work but it was 100% well worth it! 💜

(This is not a bashing post to anyone who colors or lightens their hair at home, times are tough and sometimes it’s all you can do but i PROMISE there is a stylist out there somewhere that would be willing to work with you and your budget and if you haven’t found them yet, i’m your gal 💜)
