Another Colton update for everyone on here:
St.Louis offered to take on Colton but after lots and lots of praying Declan and I felt the BEST thing for our family and especially Colton was to see if childrens mercy would reconsider traching Colton. We asked for a care conference and after over an hour of us advocating for Colton (I even made a PowerPoint) and making the point of how this situation is already hard, it will be even harder if our baby is 4 hours away. They told us they would reconsider and this week I got a call saying they will proceed to treat Colton!
This means Colton will not have to be life flighted while intubated (which is traumatic), he will be with doctors and nurses who know him, and Declan and I will be able to be by his side every day learning how to take care of him so we can take him home. We do not have a date for surgery as there is still a lot of preparation that needs to be done. But we are just so excited to be able to give our little angel a stable airway finally. Prayers for all to go well please 🫶🏻💙

After long conversations with my family, and after being told Colton would have to be transferred to a different hospital in a different state, we had some hard decisions to make. For the past 5 years I have worked hard to build up my career and clientele, built relationships with my clients, switched salons to a salon that was the best work environment I could be in. And when I found out I was pregnant with Colton I told myself there was no way I would ever give it up. Unfortunately Coltons situation is something I could of never prepared for. And something that will need 24/7 care. I have decided to quit my job so I can go wherever Colton goes (we did have a hospital that will take him that is over 10 hours away, we are still waiting on other hospitals before we make a decision) and I need to put being a mom first.

I hope to come back to this career and rebuild one day but for now I’m hanging up my apron to put my family first right now. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
