Disinfecting Spray With Essential Oils – Loving Essential Oils 12/30/2022

If you’re into a good one is to make some easy changes to your daily life. Whether it’s changing your overall using baby steps instead of drastic measures (90%+ of which fail), slowly incorporating more into your routine (again, baby steps), or reducing the amount of substances in your household/life, to help reduce current and future problems.

The latter is easier to do than people think. The majority of toxic substances used daily by people in the US, is ridiculously high, and mostly based upon marketing strategies by big corporations that don’t care about you or your health, and just want your money. A large number of chemicals in our products are banned in EU and Canada, as they have been proven to be toxic. The FDA allows any new chemical to be listed as GRAS (Generally Regarded As Safe), until proven not to be. In other words, Americans are guinea pigs. Not until these chemicals are already harming people for years, and often decades, does the FDA do their version of “Oopsy, maybe that wasn’t safe after all”, and bans a chemical.

I’ll be regularly posting information on here, and Locally Good Farm and Stuff with Steph pages, of easy ways to make your and your family’s life healthier.

One of the major culprits is chemicals used around the house. It’s where you spend most of your time, and thus the air that you breathe the most. Two of the major sources are Household Cleaners and Fabric Softener. We’ll discuss FS in another post (spoiler alert: it doesn’t actually soften your fabric, and it’s toxic as hell).

Today we’ll tackle household cleaners. Here’s an easy recipe for a non-toxic household disinfectant spray. I also added links to the site that I buy the best quality essential oils from, or you can buy 1-2 oz from me if you’d like (small amounts in stores are overpriced and you save on shipping), as I buy 16 oz at a time, of 20+ different EO’s. Just DM me.

Here’s Bulk Apothecary’s website. This has been my regular supplier for 20+ years. I only buy from other companies if they are out of something:

New Directions site (the last few times I got EO’s from Bulk Apoth, they were this brand. So, worth checking out prices (might be cheaper to buy directly)):

https://www.newdirectionsaromatics.com/products/essential-oils/

DO NOT buy cheap EO’s from walmart or other discount sources…there’s a reason that they’re much cheaper…they’re crap and you’re wasting your $.

There is a lot of misinformation online about what is and isn’t safe with certain conditions or for certain people (don’t trust US gov sites, as they scare everyone away, and are FULL of misinformation) Exp: Clary Sage is not safe during pregnancy, as breathing it can actually cause contractions (great to use if you’re trying to bring labor on). Here is a link to the most accurate resource that I’ve ever seen, as it’s written by Doula’s, and marries thousands of years of knowledge with the latest scientific evidence:

https://chicagofamilydoulas.com/safe-essential-oils/

Another exp: Eucalyptus is excellent to inhale to open up the sinuses and help with lung health…except for children under 10 years old! Young children’s lungs can actually be permanently damaged if they breathe Eucalyptus EO on a regular basis.

Always make sure to use a reliable source when trying out new things for your health. I have been using EO’s for 22 years, and have many thousands of hours of experience and education about them. If you want to ask me ANY questions about EO’s or anything else , DM me!
