Hello treasured clients and friends, I have some exciting news to share with you all!

Starting June 1st, I'll be moving my business to a new location! I've thoroughly enjoyed my nearly eight years at AJS and am thankful to be leaving on excellent terms. Last month, a close and long-time friend of mine opened her own gorgeous salon, and I've decided it will be a wonderful new place for myself and all of you too!

My friends, let me tell you that it's a stunning space that I cannot wait for you all to see & experience!

Our new salon home has a comfy yet high-end vibe, houses fewer stylists and is more spread out - something many of you have mentioned you appreciate, especially these days! The space is stylish, beautifully decorated, and extra secure due to its second-floor location.

*The Phoenix Hair Co is located in Suite 203A, on the 2nd floor of the American Legion Bldg, just a few minutes from Ashlyn Jamyson Salon (my former location).

*There is an elevator for those who need it or would prefer not to take the stairs.

*Parking is metered but plentiful! I've driven by to investigate the parking situation at various times and haven't yet had trouble finding a spot.

*I'll be reaching out to everyone individually in the days leading up to your appointment with specifics, but know that your scheduled appointment date/time/price is not changing - only the address.

Hey folks!!

🚨Policy update incoming🚨

You may have already heard that the mask mandate is officially over for salons and lots of other businesses as of March 12th! Now it’s up to each individual business to decide what their policy is.

What does that mean for clients?

Well, it means you don’t have to wear your mask to appointments with me if you don’t want to 🎉

With that being said, I do plan to keep wearing mine for a little while even though I’m vaccinated and boosted. I foresee a potential spike in illnesses of all kinds when the mandate lifts, and due to the sheer number of people I see on a weekly basis, I want to protect myself as I’ve got TONS to keep up with between being a part time college student and a full-time owner of two small businesses—being sick just doesn’t factor in to my schedule 👎🏻

🦠That being said, I will make the decision at some point to take my mask off when I’m at the salon—I just want to see how it all shakes out for a while first!
☺️Even when that does happen, I’m perfectly happy to put one back on if anyone feels more comfy that way, no problem 🙌🏼
🧼 I will continue to sanitize between every client from now on, moving forward that just seems like best practice, and your safety is important to me!
🤒 if you’re not feeling well for ANY reason, please reach out and cancel/reschedule your appointment. I know it can be frustrating to have to rebook, but it’s still important we respect each-other’s health
😷 if you feel more comfortable wearing a mask, please do, I have no issue whatsoever working around them as long as you wear the ear-loop style.

We’ve reached level 2022 my friends! 🎉

💫 However the last year treated you, my hope is that 2022 brings you kindness for yourself and empathy for others even when it’s really difficult—especially then actually.
✌🏼 I hope you find something resembling peace, ideally within yourself first, and then I hope you pay that s**t forward.
☺️I hope you find clarity, in whatever form you’ve been looking for.
🤩 Most of all I hope you find some JOY.

I’m not naive enough to actually believe that 2022 will be all 🦄 & 🌈, but I do believe we can find beauty in unexpected places if we take the time to look.

Hi friends! Have you missed me?!

I know I’ve been pretty MIA here, but it’s for a good reason—Life has been busy in the best way 🤘🏽

In my wildest dreams I couldn’t have imagined my business would be doing so well that I’m STILL not in a position to take new clients, and yet here I stand.

Many of you know that I’m also a beekeeper and that I started a honey company last year during shut down—and if you didn’t know—well now you’re in the loop 🐝 Since is a new business, I’ve been focusing more of my social media energy in that direction. So if you’d like to see more of me, for now that’s the place to do it!

Don’t worry though, because I’m not going anywhere! I’m still here, still VERY busy at the salon 4 days a week giving cool people beautiful and badass hair! It’s kinda wild—because I’m where I’ve always wanted to be—I made it! So for now I’m going to keep taking it easy and being less present on the socials because that’s what feels good and right to me during this season.

Howdy friends! Just popping out of my social media hiatus to give you an update:

As I’m sure many of you already know, on June 30th Governor announced a change to the masking and occupancy mandates for businesses in our lovely state.

What does this mean for you as a client?

💉If you’re vaccinated (meaning two weeks after your 2nd dose or two weeks after your J&J shot), I welcome you in-salon mask free!
🤘🏽I’m fully vaccinated myself, but I’m still wearing my mask for the time being, because I see several different people/day and I feel safer that way. Please do wear yours if you feel more comfy that way too!
😷 If you’re opting out of the vaccine, that’s cool too—just please continue to mask up while in-salon for the entirety of your appointment.
🚫 As a biz owner in WA, I’m legally allowed to ask you about your vaccination status. That being said, I don’t feel right about it—so I’m using the honor system. I have the best and loveliest clients and I’m not worried about dishonesty.
💇🏽‍♀️ Slowly but surely, you will see our salon space return to normal. We’re pacing ourselves just in case numbers do go back up.
🧼 I will continue to deep clean between every client because COVID isn’t gone, and moving forward I plan to continue this forever
🍷 I will be able to start serving you wine, coffee, tea, and water again!
🚗 You no longer need to wait in your car before you come in, we have our doors unlocked now! That being said, we don’t have our lobby yet, so it’s standing room only until we take down our dividers.
📧 I will be changing/updating confirmation emails in the next week or so to reflect these changes as well.

Life has definitely gotten wild this summer! As many of you already know—I’m a BUSY person. I’m definitely more of a “human doing” than a “human being.”

Generally, I like it that way—but right now I need to take a break. I’ve got too much on my plate—and in an effort to ease my stress and reduce the amount of time I’ve been spending on my phone, I’m going to be taking a step back from the socials for a bit.

I’ll still be working in the salon, I just won’t be logging into IG—so if you need me, please shoot me a text or send me an email, because I won’t be checking my messages here.

Whoa! I can’t believe that one year ago today I was headed back to work for the first time in 3 LONG months!

This year has been difficult in ways I couldn’t have imagined, but it’s also been incredibly wonderful at the same time!

I don’t think I say often enough just how incredibly grateful I am to all of my clients for being so incredibly supportive, loyal, and just all around beautiful humans. I don’t care if it’s mushy...I would not be here—doing what I do without you. Maybe without even realizing it, you all quite literally work together to put food on my table, clothes in my closet, and a roof over my head. Trust me when I say the immensity of that isn’t lost on me.

The trust you all have placed in me nearly brings me to tears sometimes, HAS brought me to literal tears more than once actually—and never has that been more true than it was this past year.

So from the bottom of my big ass heart, THANK YOU 🙏🏼🥺😭😍🤩

I heard it’s gonna be a scorcher today! Well— in the 90’s —which in WA is basically the same thing 🤣

I love the heat, but when it’s THAT hot, I’ve gotta stay near a body of water or sprinkler to maintain sanity and minimize butt sweat 😝

You know what else is freakin awesome in the summer?! Short hair 🙌🏼 nothing wrong with a messy bun to get it off your back & neck, but there’s just something about not having to put it up at all and still being comfortable isn’t there?! I’m definitely team bob & pixie for the summertime

Let’s get right to it—I want to talk about masks 😷

In light of the recent announcement from and the CDC regarding mask-wearing, I’d like to make it clear that I will still be requiring my clients to wear their mask in my chair regardless of vaxx status for the time being.

I myself am not yet fully vaccinated (although I will be in just over two weeks woohooo!) But the truth is I’m just not ready to be in the kind of close contact my profession requires all day around anyone—vaxxed or not. I am SO HAPPY that it appears we as a country are beginning to round the corner as they say, but—I for one don’t believe COVID will be gone anytime soon. Certainly not by June 30th, which is when has stated everything in WA state will be fully opened and anyone can go maskless.

It’s worth noting here that not everyone I work with feels the way I do, and since we are all self-employed, it is absolutely within their rights to NOT require their clients to mask up. So please know that when you come in for your appointment, you may see others maskless. Even though I feel differently, I will not tolerate negative comments or disrespect, but I know that wouldn’t be an issue because I have the BEST CLIENTS EVER!! 😻🙌🏼

There will come a time when I will be ready to take my mask off too—but at this point I don’t know when that will be. I will definitely keep in touch and update you all as always!

I’d like you all to know that even when I do decide I’m ready to lose the mask, that I will happily mask up if absolutely any one of my clients would be more comfortable that way—no questions asked!

The bottom line for me is that my clients feel comfortable ALWAYS 🙌🏼 Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, thoughts or concerns!
