Late December, 2024...browsing IG, a bottle of perfume I had never heard of before, Damascus No1, caught my attention.

“Cool bottle, interesting name”
“ooh, extrait de parfum, and less than a 💯 dollars for 50ml?”

Those were my initial reactions...

Having over 300 bottles of niche fragrances, all purchased by me (no gifts), and at least 250 of them being blindbuys, i decided I had nothing to lose & ordered Damascus No1.

You say it is madness, i say it is a passion...

You call it an addiction, I call it a hobby...

I don’t do drugs, gamble... no bad habits, just an occasional glass of scotch to relax, and my passion for unique, quality, niche fragrances...

It is all about perspective in this life. IF someone put Damascus No1 in a Xerjoff bottle, you would be gladly paying $500 for it retail, and be thrilled to sn**ch it for $250 at a discounter.

If someone put Outlaw in a Roja bottle, you would be paying much more and call it a masterpiece.

George is another one that is on a whole new level - put it in a Royal Crown bottle, and good luck finding it for less than $400...

My point is... We all fall for the same marketing trap from time to time - it is just “cool” to have a bottle of that perfume everybody is raving about...

Then there are those true gems that are criminally underrated and do not get the attention they deserve...

GentlemansNod is one of them, and i feel privileged to have taken that initial step last December to give them a shot.

Sometimes, all it takes is one single bottle to meet your next best discovery... I currently have 14 bottles of fragrances from , and the consistency of this brand in terms of quality & longevity is exemplary. We need more brands to do what these guys are doing.

If you are familiar with this brand, I highly recommend that you try George and Outlaw. In fact, try any from their collection, and you will most likely get hooked. This brand is a true hidden gem,take my word for it.

My first ever fragrance, ,which i have had in my collection for 3 weeks to be exact

Black pepper, cardamom, saffron, to***co, patchouli...

35% oil concentration, extrait de parfum in a very cool, plated 50ml bottle.

Great longevity (lasts all day on skin, multiple days on clothes).

Best of all, these guys don’t price their fragrances obnoxiously. For the quality you are getting, and for the amazing performance, their fragrances are very reasonably priced.

I am so impressed with Gentleman’s Nod that i figured i would go on a shopping spree to show my support and my appreciation...

The hotly debated good vs. evil... it’s a battle that has long been explored and even exploited through the pages of history, fiction literature, TV & movies since the very beginning. In every story, opposing sides... a conflict... a hero and a villian... are required to qualify as truly riveting entertainment. At least, that’s how it’s 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯.

Have you noticed the use of the word 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵 more and more? And I think there’s a reason for that. A protagonist can refer to a leading character that just may be a little of both... good 𝘢𝘯𝘥 bad... hero 𝘢𝘯𝘥 villian. The word successfully blurs the lines a bit and thus creates a character that you find yourself rooting for 𝘢𝘯𝘥 despising all at the same time. And what is more, it’s a person that you find yourself even relating to in a lot of ways. (*Think Jennifer Aniston’s very complex character, Alex Levy, as portrayed on the AppleTV series, The Morning Show*)

Simply put, humans are not always black & white. Even within ourselves, we admit that we can possess both sides. Take me, for instance. I do consider myself a good person. I am fiercely loving and loyal and I always strive to do the right and ethical thing. But I also have my dark side that rears it ugly head when my patience is pushed to its limit or my boundaries are disrespected and repeatedly trampled.

I suppose that’s why I am drawn to this newest series of fragrances by that abstractly explores this theme (in an olfactive sense) of good vs. evil, while conceding the possibility that both qualities can co-exist in a single entity.

Future posts will examine these new fragrance releases, Outlaw & Lawman, each in turn. Are you more Outlaw or Lawman? Hero or villian? Or maybe a mix of both? 🤔

Call me crazy but this just might be my favorite from GN! Absolutely fresh with a little zing! Bright and fresh at the opening.. With a little coffee, incense and Vetiver gives it that little pop.. It has all my favorite notes!

These brushes were hand turned by Rob . They were crafted from rock-hard mesquite burl wood, with a matte black ferrule, and contrasting inlays of brass and gloss black. The mesquite is cut with six flutes, calling to mind the revolvers that were the calling card of The Lawman. Each brush also features the custom GN LAWMAN coin. We think they are the perfect complement to the Lawman set! We hope you enjoy!!!
