Parlour 1887
We strive to share our passion for beauty with everyone we come in contact with.
Our mission is to make every person feel appreciated as soon as they walk through our doors, feel taken care of their entire stay, and feel beautiful as soon as they leave.

PSA: Here’s where to find us in 2023 and beyond ✌️
🎤.. Is this thing on??
Hellloooo everyone! I wanted to get on here and thank everyone who has supported us for the last 10+ years. I wouldn’t change a single thing about it.
We started our journey on a hope and the dream that we could do anything we set our minds to… and we DID IT. We couldn’t have done it without every single person who supported us over the years. Benson as a community wrapped it’s arms around us and helped make this place home.
I have had the pleasure of working along side my best friends who have become my family. I have made the decision to move to Arizona to be closer to my Dad. It is not an easy decision leaving the people I love and the culture we’ve created.
We decided as a team that closing this chapter in our lives and leaving Parlour on a high note was the best option for all of us. So, with that.. Dec 23, 2022 will be the last day the salon is open. 10 years, 7 months and 6 days.
We’ve seen babies born, graduations, deaths, marriages, birthdays, human rights movements, a pandemic and the list goes on. This place holds such a huge place in my heart and I’m SO grateful that I made the decision to move to Omaha 12 years ago. If you see this post and feel inclined to leave your favorite Parlour story in the comments I would sure love it!
Long story short I just want to say THANK YOU! Thank you from the bottom of my heart thank you, thank you, thank you.
All of my love,
Sam ❤️
We have no power! We will be closed today 7/10 sorry for any inconvenience!

“Why do they get a whole month?”
“Hate the sin, love the sinner.”
“I don’t care as long as they keep it to themselves.”
Microaggressions aren’t new to the LGBTQIA+ community, but being visible is. The very first symbol of the q***r community were pink triangles worn by prisoners in concentration camps. 52 years ago, the q***r community decided to stand up for themselves and a movement was born. A movement of visibility, of life and pride. In the 80’s & 90’s, q***r people were ignored as a plague swept through the community. It was a subtle genocide—one of willful ignorance, fear, and attributed to justice on the damned from the hand of God. The q***r community deserves the opposite of silence and invisibility. In some places, pride may have morphed into rainbow capitalism, but Parlour 1887 doesn’t care about making a dollar. We care about the q***r children who pass our store and know they have a safe space. We care about our neighborhood, where nearly every store waves a rainbow flag. We care about our employees, clients, and strangers.
Thank you to BFF for painting our windows and showing the world that we are a place for everybody to showcase their pride. And thank you to these clients who show their ass, because now we are aware that you are no longer welcome inside the safe space that we have created. Next time you’re offended by a rainbow, ask yourself what you didn’t have to live through.
“We have to do it because we can no longer stay invisible. We have to be visible. We should not be ashamed of who we are.” -Sylvia Rivera

***ATTENTION*** Counselors are a critical (and LACKING) part of schools especially in our neighborhood. With school going back and most people being uncertain and afraid our counselors are going to be overwhelmed by those in need even more than usual. If you would like to help PLEASE bring cleaning wipes, hand sanitizer or cleaning supplies of any kind to the salon ASAP. We will give you $5 off your next appointment! Stop by anytime during regular business hours! (We will be closed Friday August 7 and Saturday Aug 8th) Thank you in advance!

We got up early to wake up Don Klein and remind him that justice is still not being served for James. Special thanks to and for organizing these demonstrations to bring light to the injustice in Omaha. They have worked tirelessly for the cause and it doesn't go unnoticed.

To our valued clients,
The Parlour 1887 family sincerely appreciates the continued support from our community. It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Parlour 1887 will not be open until June, at the earliest. When we see the curve of sickness fall and community spread dissipate, we will feel comfortable opening our doors to you again.
Our #1 priority is to put our staff, family, and clients’ safety first. We must set a standard for safety that is not yet being met in our local community or government, and we must be firm in our decision. This was not an easy decision to make. Being unemployed isn’t easy. Being separated from our family and clients isn’t easy. Being patient isn’t easy, but it is better than being sick, or unknowingly passing this horrible disease to the people we care about. We miss ALL of you.
With love,
Your Parlour 1887 family.
