We are excited to introduce the newest member of our team! Cryss was born and raised in Omaha and comes to us with 6 years of professional hair experience. She is great at her craft and enjoys working with both women and men, young and old. She especially enjoys helping people get into the healthy hair care routine that’s right for them.

Cryss is a badass who loves to joke around and laugh, hang out with her hubby, kiddos, and pet cockateels. She is super excited to meet you.

Hello, Unfortunately, we have been experiencing similar economic impacts as many small business at this time. As such, we have had to make the difficult decision to downsize and alter schedules in order to best support the longevity of our business. What to expect:

We no longer have a front desk person. We are on a tight schedule with appointments and a new cleaning routine due to COVID, so we will more than likely not be able to answer the phone. You can manage all your own appointments through Resurva, including booking, moving and cancelling. We thank you in advanced.

The time has come to open up our doors again, we will be re-opening Tuesday June 2. We are beyond excited to get back to work and hang. Proper and right sanitation is the absolute number one practice in our shop. We will reopen in limited capacity within the guidelines provided by the state of Nebraska. As with all relationships, it’s 50/50. We are doing our part and we need you to do yours.

RE-OPENING GUIDELINES

FOR YOU:

To comply with the Nebraska Directed Health Measures:

•Each customer will provide their own mask that they will wear during the entire time they are in shop, including during the haircut. No mask. No service. No debate. *No services other than haircuts will be offered until further notice.

•Only customers with an appointment will be allowed in the shop during their appointment time.

Additionally:

•We are implementing a one-in/one-out practice. Please wait in your car for your appointment. We will text you when we are ready for you.

•If you do not have an appointment but you need product or a gift card, please call or text us ahead of time and we are happy to run that out curbside!

FOR US (and your peace of mind):

To comply with the Nebraska Directed Health Measures:

•Barbers are mandated to wear masks

•Capes will be changed with each service.

•Two half hour breaks built in to our day along with our lunch to clean the shop.

As always:

•Normal barber sanitation. All cutting implements disinfected properly via product recommendations. Disinfect barber chairs and stations between each customer.

•A new neck strip will be used to provide a barrier between the cape and skin contact.

•All towels and capes will be laundered throughout the day.

Resurva / The Surly Chap Barbers We're Moving! Starting March 3, 2020 all appointments will be at 1410 S 13th St.

First and foremost, we at the Surly Chap want to say thank you for all your support over these last 7 years and also throughout these uncertain times. Being a barber is unlike most professions. We are presented with the gift to experience the human condition though our customers’ every day lives and appreciate the opportunity to do so. We miss being at the shop very much!

We have taken into consideration all the information available, as well as the guidelines required for us to reopen at this time. When paired with our priorities, which is our staff and customers’ well-being, we have decided to remain closed through May.

Please know that depending on the Directed Health Measures in place in June, there may be some changes in how we operate, including the number of barbers available, our hours, and the services we provide. We will not allow booking to start up again until we know what guidelines we must follow. We are taking this very seriously, and we hope you understand.

Thanks for your continued support and we (really) can’t want to have a patio hang in June!!

Hey everyone - In compliance with Governor Ricketts’ order and the DHHS of Douglas County shops are to be closed through April 30.

Such amazing people that we get work with everyday - a second family really - and an equally amazing group of customers, that we look forward to hanging with again soon. Expect a party on the back patio in May!
