Hello! My name is Nikki. I am the founder, administrator, cleaning lady, web site creator and manager, graphic designer, program manager, event coordinator, scheduler of all things,“hostess with the mostess party planner” and don’t forget “volunteer like it’s my second job” for Rising Sun Creative Wellness.

Oh, and I teach a little yoga too 😉

My creative studio and event space has been open and serving the community for the last seven years and I am excited to share the next phase with all of you!

For the last six months, so much has been under review personally and professionally. Crazy how an injury will do that?! For now I’ll just say how very thankful I am that I don’t need to have to have surgery at this time. I’ll be sharing more about the MRI results and the amazing humans that have been here for me along the way!

I have a hard time allowing myself to be vulnerable but it is important to share this experience so I can share the magic of yoga so far beyond our mats and the physical practice! There have been more obstacles than I can count as a yoga studio owner for the last 12 years. 4 brands and 4 locations but somehow it was seamless though it all and I have stayed in business. No matter what I showed up. I opened those doors for my students, beloved members and myself. I have created a welcoming and very supportive space for many others to grow their businesses too.

Much has been accomplished and I feel very satisfied with the effort that I have put in to our community through all the volunteering time events and downtown beautification projects, previous time as a chamber of commerce board member, currently on Omak City Parks Board Member and collaborating with local businesses to also make wellness available as a free offering for those whom may otherwise not be able or would not try yoga. I have spent a lot of time healing here where I grew up and this little town will always hold a special place in my heart.

Sometimes I think that the hardest part about the injury for me is accepting help when it’s offered!! Sometimes it’s about a willingness to slow down long enough to figure out what it is that I need and prioritize my beautiful self! Thank you to everyone who has been reaching out…
And a big thank you to all my garden friends for helping me keep my head up and lending a hand throughout the season.

I can’t tell you in words how good it feels to lean in and receive a little of that love we’ve been growing!! Yoga is not always rainbows and butterflies but it’s so much better when we get through it together! 🫶✨

"A rising wave has a lot of joy. When the wave is falling, there may be some anxiety about the ending of the wave. Rising always brings about falling. Birth gives rise to death. But if the wave practices meditation and realizes she is water, she can collapse and tumble with joy. She may die as a wave, but she will always be alive as water. The teaching of the Buddha helps us to touch our true nature and receive the insight that will dissipate all kinds of fear. It is possible to die smiling, without fear, without anger."
