I began this portrait while my daughter was still here, and finished it after she was gone. Completing it was the hardest portrait I’ve ever worked on – and also one of the most healing. There were moments when it felt as if she was right there with me, looking back through her eyes. I found myself wondering if I told her enough, how beautiful she was, how deeply she was loved. This portrait is larger than life, just as she remains in my heart. The canyon behind her is peekaboo canyon in Utah, one of her favorite places.❤️
