Fun makeover this afternoon with my next to youngest granddaughter. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a "before" picture but it was a grown out wolf cut. We did peek-a-boo pink tips on the bottom layer of an octopus haircut. What do you think?
I haven't seen our certificate yet but the Best of Clay results were announced last week. We won as Best Barber Shop (ironic!) and came third in the Hair Salon category. Thank you to everyone who supported us with your nominations and votes. Mary has decided to join Terri and Tina in retirement at the end of the month. Please spread the word that we have three stations available to rent. The fee is only $140/week.

I first cut Sierra's hair 19 years ago (see pic bottom center of this month's cover page) and have watched her grow into a fine young lady. She spent the past five years teaching English in Vietnam and went crazy with bleach and vivid colors before she came home. In addition, her natural red turned brown as sometimes happens to redheads. I accomplished this tint back using permanent color on her two inch regrowth and deposit only on the bleached out mid-shafts and ends. OLAPLEX all the way of course We were quite happy with the result.

I've been doing Dawn's hair for more than 20 years. During that time she has decided to grow it out two or three times. It has never gotten longer than this before she reverted to her tried and true pixie; usually clipper cut in the back. Today we did a razor cut and styled it onto her face. Second makeover in two days; what a great week!

Fun makeover! Several months ago Roberta had her long hair chopped off to a medium length, layered style that she was not happy with. We did a color retouch with deposit only color and cut it into a short bob. It still has some layering left over. The plan is to keep it this length until it is a solid bob and then grow it long again for a Locks of Love donation. You'll be seeing her in the future. Some color adventures may be in the offing!

A beautiful Locks of Love donation last week; hopefully the first of many this year. If you can donate at least ten inches of healthy hair the cut and style are free!

I met Amanda in 2015 when I was teaching a kayaking class for the Girl Scouts at Camp Kateri. She donated her hair to Locks of Love with a short bob haircut. I've been doing her hair ever since and she has made two subsequent donations and experimented with several hairstyles. Variety is the spice of life!
