POV: you want extensions, but you’re scared they’re going to make your hair worse. 🫣

If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard this…

And honestly? I understand why you’re scared.

I’ve seen the aftermath of bad extension installs: bald spots, excessive shedding, breakage, unnecessary tension, irritated scalps… and clients who were convinced that extensions were the problem when, in reality, the way they were installed was the problem.

And before anyone thinks I’m sitting here acting like I’ve always known everything… Absolutely not. 😂

When I first started doing extensions years ago, I was taught things that I now know I would NEVER do. I was even told to take ibuprofen after an install because your scalp being sore was “normal.”

And yes… I’ve told clients the same thing.

I wish I could say I didn’t, but I did.

Not because I didn’t care about my clients or their hair. I simply didn’t know what I know now.

That’s why I’ve spent years obsessing over the WHY behind extensions. The weight distribution, placement, tension, sectioning, density, maintenance, removal, and how all of those things affect the scalp and natural hair.

Because an extension install shouldn’t leave you wondering if you just signed your hair up for a hostage situation. 😂

Your extensions should be comfortable. Your natural hair should be protected. And your install should be customized to YOU.

This client didn’t want anything crazy.
