Dr. Antonella Tosti is a dermatologist and a world recognized expert in hair disorders...she also holds a true passion for hair which is obvious when she speaks!

We had the pleasure of hearing her speak last week in Vegas and she’s amazing! She has written many books and is the editor-in-chief of the only scientific journal that deals with hair, hair loss, and hair disorders.

I’m going to share some tips from her to have the very best hair you can!

She also is presenting Monat to the World Congress of Dermatology. This event takes place every 4 years and is an opportunity for dermatologists to come together to share their clinical experiences and scientific advances on both a professional and personal level. The Congress focuses on major break throughs and advances in Dermatology, ranging from clinical practice to research, technology and innovation.

I would almost guarantee that these other “professional” brands and anything you buy from a shelf, doesn’t have this kind of research and development...just sayin’ 🤷🏼‍♀️

👩🏼‍⚕️Tip #1
No shampoo can cause your hair to fall out. It doesn’t have long enough contact with your skin (scalp), to cause this kind of damage or reaction. Sorry not sorry!

👩🏼‍⚕️Tip #2
If you start experiencing hair loss, chances are it’s NOT from something you just started using. You need to look back 3 months prior and see what changed then. It takes 3 months for hair to fall out from an issue. I will talk more about what can cause this to happen. Most common cause: stress!

When hair shedding occurs, it’s because a new hair is already growing under the surface and it’s pushing the old hair out. So if you started using Monat and see excessive shedding, it’s because the ingredients in monat products are stimulating new hair growth and that new hair coming in is pushing the dormant hair out. And that new hair is going to be so much stronger and healthier looking! This can start during the first week of using our products!

👩🏼‍⚕️Tip #4
Everyone needs conditioner! Including those with very fine/thin hair. This was a little bit of an eye opener for me. I have a lot of clients with fine/thin hair that don’t use conditioner because it “weighs” their hair down. The trick is to choose the RIGHT conditioner rather than no conditioner. Everyone’s hair needs hydration and moisture...esp those with fine/thin hair that is already brittle and prone to breaking. Monat has a wonderful conditioner for fine/thin hair that does not weigh your hair down!
