When people see a $8 bar of handmade soap, they often think the maker earns $8.

The truth? That $8 has to cover oils, fragrance, colorants, lye, packaging, labels, website fees, market fees, equipment, insurance, and the time it takes to make, cut, cure, label, photograph, market, and sell each bar.

Handmade soap isn’t just a bar of soap—it’s the result of hours of work, quality ingredients, and a whole lot of care.

I don’t share this to complain. I share it because I believe it’s important to understand the value behind handmade products and the people who create them.
