💄💔With a Broken Heart, I’m Closing My Studio💔💄

I’m sadly closing the doors to my beauty studio, of nearly a decade —not by choice, but by heartbreaking circumstances.

My medically complex 6-year-old daughter, Ailyn, is really struggling health wise. Her seizures have increased in both frequency and intensity. They have referred her to palletive care to ensure she has the best quality of life she can. She has begun regressing . There are days she can’t lift her head or crawl. I’ve spent the last several months by her side—through appointments, hospital stays, and long nights at home doing everything I can to keep her comfortable and safe. Watching your child drift away before your eyes is a pain I can’t put into words.

Because I’ve been unable to work, and since parents in Wisconsin are not paid to be “in-home support services,” my family has not had the financial stability we once had. I’ve been scraping together every dollar I could for months to keep my studio afloat—holding onto hope that Ailyn would stabilize and I could reopen. But that hope has deminished and I no longer have a choice.

Losing my studio; one that at one time, I poured my heart and soul into is utterly devastating. I had so many dreams and plans—new services, new product lines, exciting changes —but now I have to let go of that dream while also facing the nightmare of losing my child.

If Ailyn is stable, I will still offer limited on-location services when I can. (event makeup , production work, bridal). However, I’m not booking out far in advance because I truly don’t know what tomorrow will bring. Right now, every moment counts.

This decision wasn’t easy. It was made out of necessity, not desire. And it hurts more than I can explain.

🍁Fall Update🍁

‼️TEMPORARILY CLOSED ‼️

Due to my daughter’s medical instability and struggle to get her seizures under control, I will be temporarily closing my books and Studio.

My 6yo daughter was born with genes from her 1st, 11th and 15th chromosomes either in the wrong place or completely deleted. This caused her to be born with no aorta, kidney/bladder abnormalities, spinal cord issues, and many other medical abnormalities. On Labor day of this year she had her first seizure. Since then, her seizures have progressed in frequency and intensity despite multiple hospitalizations and many different medications.

Ailyn’s seizures have gone from 0-1000 in a matter of weeks! We have had multiple hospitalizations, 911 calls, ambulance rides and her seizures still aren’t under control.

In addition, my 12 yo son broke his femur a day after getting out of Ailyn’s 1st seizure hospital stay. He had emergency surgery & his recovery has NOT been easy!

In turn, I will temporarily be closing my books. I hope to be back before the holidays, as finances are awful due to me not working (and my husband has no paid time off remaining). Ailyns future is unknown and I want to be by her side to not only be her advocate, but to also spend as much as we can w/ her!
