It's silk press season, but let's be real - it's always silkpress season for me and my clients! As summer wraps up and we say goodbye to all those 'protective styles, it's time to check in. If we haven't been keeping up with our treatments and trims, our hair and scalp might be feeling the effects.

Honestly, even during the summer, a silk press helps us stay on top of our length retention and catch those split ends before they cause serious damage.

As a healthy haircare specialist, I am on my journey daily, and I've learned that I'm a combination natural. I stick to styles that keep my hair healthy-- like rod sets, silk presses, and a few others that work for my scalp and over all hair health.

Not every style works for everyone, and it's important to know what your hair can handle. Let's be honest. Not every trend is worth it if it's damaging your hair in the long run.

For me, my go-to styles are: Rodset, silkpress, curly crochet, clipins, and tension- free curly ponytails.

And if you ever see me in something outside of these styles, it's only for a special occasion - and I'm not keeping it in for more than 1 or 2 weeks.
