Happy Fourth of July!
Today marks 250 years since America declared its independence. Whether you’re spending the day with family, friends, or just enjoying a well deserved day off, I hope it’s a great one.
Just one favor… let’s all try to keep our fireworks stories to “that was awesome” instead of “so here’s what happened…”
I’ll be back in the office this week, and I still have a few appointments available. If you’ve been meaning to book a massage, send me a message before they’re gone.
Have a safe and happy Fourth of July, and happy 250th birthday, America!
I have last-minute massage openings for the next couple of days. Make sure to get in before 4 July weekend! As always, first come first serve!
Wednesday, July 1… 60 minute availability at 1:00.
Friday, July 3… 60 or 90 minute availability at 10:30 AM.

First, I just want to say thank you.
The support you’ve shown me and Unsighted Massage over the years has truly changed my life. Because of all of you, I’ve been able to build a career doing what I love, and I will never take that for granted.
I wanted to clear up a little confusion about the Southland’s Best voting.
You’ll notice that both Unsighted Massage and Nicole Richards Salon & Spa appear in the Best Massage category. While I appreciate every single person who wants to vote for me, I would actually ask that everyone vote for Nicole Richards Salon & Spa instead. This salon is my home, and I don’t want votes being split between the two. We have an incredible team that works so hard every day to give our clients the best experience possible, and I’d love to see the entire salon recognized for everything they do.
While you’re voting, don’t stop at the massage category! Please consider voting for Nicole Richards Salon & Spa in every category they’re nominated in. I can honestly say these ladies are some of the most talented, hardworking people I know, and they deserve every bit of the recognition.
One more tip: you can vote once every single day, and voting resets at midnight. The easiest way to keep up with it is to leave the voting page open in its own browser tab. Then each day, simply refresh the page and vote again. It only takes a minute, but those daily votes can make a huge difference.
Thank you again for believing in me, supporting small businesses, and helping us chase this honor. It truly means the world to all of us.
Voting link is in the post below!

When was the last time you did something for your body before it started screaming for your attention?
One of the most common questions I get from new clients is, “How often should I get a massage?”
My answer is usually another question.
How often do you find yourself saying, “My neck has been bothering me,” “My back is tight again,” or “I’ve been meaning to schedule something for myself”?
Most people don’t wait until their car breaks down to get an oil change. They don’t wait until they have a toothache to brush their teeth. But when it comes to taking care of their body, it’s often the first thing pushed to the bottom of the list.
I see it all the time. Life gets busy. Work gets demanding. Kids need attention. Bills need paid. Before you know it, months have gone by and the aches, stiffness, headaches, and stress that slowly crept in have become your new normal.
The truth is that massage isn’t just about fixing pain after it shows up. It’s about maintaining your body so you’re not constantly playing catch-up.
That doesn’t mean everyone needs a massage every week. What it does mean is making yourself enough of a priority to have some kind of routine for your own well-being.
If you’ve been telling yourself, “I really need to schedule a massage again,” consider this your reminder.
Your body carries you through every single day. It deserves a little maintenance too.

“You don’t know what you don’t know.”
A client said that to me after his massage last week, and it’s been stuck in my head ever since.
He’s a police officer and it was his very first massage. We talked about the toll his job takes on his body—wearing a vest, carrying equipment on his belt all day, spending hours sitting in a squad car, and dealing with the physical demands that come with the job. Discomfort had become normal for him.
After his session, he told me how much better he felt and said, “You don’t know what you don’t know.”
The more I thought about it, the more I realized how true that is when it comes to self-care.
A lot of people have never had a massage because they see it as something reserved for vacations, cruises, or special occasions. What I see every day, though, are people who have gotten so used to being uncomfortable that they don’t realize how much better they could feel.
Whether you’re a police officer, a tradesperson, someone who sits at a desk all day, or you’re simply dealing with the wear and tear of everyday life, your body keeps score.
Self-care isn’t about luxury. It’s about taking care of the one body you have.
If you’ve never had a massage before, maybe it’s time to find out what you don’t know.
And if it’s been a while since your last session, consider this your reminder to get back on the schedule. Your body will thank you for it.
