Being Jesus' Hands and Feet to Those in Need. http://loveagp.com We also provide haircuts. The need is great.

All God’s People Chicago is an organization that ministers to the needs of homeless people in the Chicago Loop area. The second Saturday of the month we set up a distribution center at, 2431 State Street, Chicago, where we hand out clothing, blankets, toiletries, non perishable food and a hot meal. We serve hundreds of people who wait patiently in line to receive items that meet their basic needs. These are our brothers and sisters who for whatever reason ended up on the street and through it all continue to praise Jesus. They know He alone is able to protect, provide, and perform the miracles they are looking for. It is an honor to serve in His name – a blessing to share a smile, a word of encouragement, or a few moments to listen with a caring heart.

A huge thank you to Chicago Christian High School for choosing to support All God’s People, through your food collection, during Spirit Week! Your generosity will help us provide food to those in need in our community and our friends we are blessed to serve!

A special thank you to Mike and Denny for picking up the food and helping unload everything. We are so grateful for your willingness to serve and for everyone who played a part in making this collection possible!

What a beautiful way to put your faith into action and be the hands and feet of Jesus! Thank you all for being a blessing to so many. To God be the glory!

Today we celebrated Sandra’s life. I was blessed to be able to share at her service, and this is just a small part of what I shared about a friendship that meant so much to me.

From the very first day we met, we had a connection. We laughed, cried, prayed, studied God’s Word, served together, and shared so many memories that I will treasure forever.

Sandra and I were blessed to walk beside each other through some of the hardest moments of our lives. She was always encouraging me with that beautiful smile of hers. She was strong, determined, full of faith, and loved her kiddos more than anything.

One of the greatest gifts God gave us, was the time we had together recently when Sandra was in the hospital. We laughed, cried, prayed, and said the things that mattered most. We always ended our conversations with, “I love you.” “I love you more.” “I love you most.” The last time we said it, there was a tear running down Sandra’s face. I will carry that moment in my heart forever.

To Sandra’s kiddos, your Mama loved you deeply. She wanted you to love one another, stay close, and take care of each other. I promised her I would watch out for you, and that is a promise I intend to keep.

I know Sandra is now with Jesus, free from pain, struggle, and suffering. I can picture her beautiful smile as she heard, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

I don’t like saying goodbye. Tay Tay, Sandra’s son, reminded me this week that he prefers “I’ll see you later,” because goodbyes feel permanent.

So, Sandra, I won’t say goodbye.

I’ll see you later.

I love you forever, my friend!

And just like I promised you…

I’ll see you forever.

All Because of Him,

Doreen

Yesterday was one of those days that reminded me just how faithful God is.

We had such a great day serving our friends at All God’s People. Having Teddy, Sandra’s son, come and serve with us was such a special blessing. And having Kathy back manning the food felt like the old days. There are some people who just make your heart feel at home. Love you so, my friend!

A huge thank you to Cheryl and her team who faithfully do the unloading and then help get us started with reloading the truck. So much of what happens behind the scenes is done with willing hands and servant hearts, and we are so grateful for each of you!

One of my favorite moments was seeing the joy on one of our friend’s faces when she received a donated vacuum cleaner. She shared that she had been praying for one for months, and yesterday God answered that prayer. What a beautiful reminder that God sees every need, even the ones that may seem small to us. He is always working, always providing, and always faithful. Thank you to all who donate, you are truly making a difference in the lives of our friends!

Our theme for the day was loving each other, and we had the privilege of telling so many of our friends, “We love you.” What a blessing it is to not only serve people, but to know them, love them, pray with them, laugh with them, and walk alongside them.

Yesterday wasn’t about what we did. It was about what God continues to do through His people.

Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness, for everything You provide, for the volunteers who give their time and hearts, for every donation, and most of all, for the blessing of serving in Your Name.

His hands. Our feet. His love.

“To God be the glory!”

All Because of Him,

Doreen

Today was another day of serving our friends experiencing homelessness, and while there may not have been one big moment that stands out, my heart is full.

Sometimes God reminds us that it’s not always about the extraordinary moments. Sometimes it’s simply about showing up, loving people, listening, sharing a meal, offering encouragement, and letting someone know that they are seen and they matter.

Today, I was reminded once again of God’s faithfulness. He continues to provide the people, the resources, the volunteers, and the strength we need to keep going. When I look around, I realize that none of this happens because of one person. It happens because God continues to put people in our path who are willing to say YES.

A very special thank you to Pastor Flores and this incredible group who traveled all the way from Ohio to serve with us. This was their 4th year coming alongside All God’s People, and that means more than they probably realize. There is something so beautiful about people who don’t just come once, but keep coming back because they’ve made a commitment to love and serve.

To every volunteer who gave their time today, thank you. To everyone who donated, prayed, prepared, served, encouraged, and loved, thank you.

And to our friends we served today, you are seen, you are loved, and you matter.

Today may have felt like “just another Saturday,” but I know better. God was there. And He was faithful.

All Because of Him,

Doreen

Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude.

On behalf of everyone at All God’s People, thank you to every single person who made the 6th Annual Hoops 4 Hunger Basketball Camp such an incredible blessing. Because of your generosity, an entire truck was filled with food and clothing that will soon become hope, encouragement, and a reminder to our homeless friends that they are seen, loved, and never forgotten.

To the 473 campers and their families, Yorkville Christian School, the amazing coaches, volunteers who traveled from across the country, and Micah Schnyders for hosting this incredible day, thank you, for choosing to make a difference. Your kindness will reach far beyond what you can see. Every bag of food, every piece of clothing, and every act of generosity will touch lives and remind someone that God has not forgotten them.

A very special thank you to Denny and Tim for being such an important part of this day. From welcoming families with warm smiles to helping load and unload an entire truck of donations, you served with joyful hearts and a willingness to do whatever was needed. Your servant hearts and kindness truly reflected the love of Christ.

And a special thank you to Tim Schnyders, who continues to pour into this incredible camp alongside his son, Micah. What a beautiful example of using the gifts God has given you to impact others and create something that blesses so many people. The love, dedication, and heart behind Hoops 4 Hunger are a true testament to what happens when we serve together for God’s purpose.

It is humbling to witness what God does when a community comes together with one purpose, to love others. Thank you for standing with All God’s People and helping us bring hope to those who need it most.

To God be all the glory. He is the One who makes all of this possible, and we are so thankful to be part of what He is doing.

All Because of Him,

Doreen

A huge thank you to Hickory Creek Church and One Kingdom One Savior, for partnering with All God’s People to bless students as they head back to school!

Because of your servant hearts, we were able to fill backpacks with much needed school supplies. But what touched my heart the most was that every single spiral notebook included a handwritten note of encouragement to help each child start the school year knowing they are loved, valued, and believed in.

It’s amazing how a few kind words can bring hope and remind someone they are not alone. Thank you for going beyond providing supplies and sharing the love of Christ in such a beautiful way.

We are so grateful for your partnership and for investing in the lives of these children. May God bless each of you for making a difference, one backpack and one encouraging note at a time. ❤️📚✏️

All Because of Him,

Doreen

If you know Ronald, then you love Ronald. He is simply the best. His smile lights up every room he walks into.

Unfortunately, Ronald had some serious dental issues. For a long time, I tried to convince him to see a dentist, but his fear always won.

Two months ago, he finally agreed to see the incredible Dr. Carly, and that’s when his journey began.

At his first appointment, Ronald knew they were only going to examine his teeth and come up with a treatment plan. He walked in bravely, and together they created a game plan.

His second appointment was scheduled for a deep cleaning on one side of his mouth and the removal of several teeth. But when that day arrived, his nerves got the best of him, and he couldn’t go.

After spending time talking with Ronald about how important dental health is, and reassuring him that he wouldn’t have to face it alone, my hand might never be the same, 😉 we scheduled another appointment with the incredibly patient team at Advanced Solutions Family Dental.

At that third appointment, Ronald bravely had six teeth removed and his first deep cleaning. Miss Kelly and Dr. Carly showed him such kindness, compassion, and encouragement every step of the way. By the end of the appointment, he realized he could do this.

Two weeks ago, he returned to have two more teeth removed and the rest of his teeth cleaned. This time, he walked through the door almost excited.

And today was the day we had all been waiting for. Ronald received his partial, and an even bigger smile.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the room. The joy was overwhelming. Watching Ronald look in the mirror and smile with such confidence was a moment none of us will ever forget.

From the bottom of my heart, and especially Ronald’s, thank you to Dr. Carly, Jordan, Kelly, Leah, and the entire team at Advanced Solutions Family Dental. Your patience, compassion, and excellence gave Ronald so much more than new teeth, you gave him confidence, dignity, and the courage to overcome one of his greatest fears.

Thank you, Dr. Carly, for changing lives, one smile at a time. Wait until you see the last picture!❤️

Doreen

I’m going to be honest, yesterday was a hard day.

It was incredibly hot. The line seemed endless. Our homeless friends were tired, and emotions were running high. There were moments when I found myself feeling discouraged.

Sometimes we think ministry should always feel joyful and rewarding. But the truth is, ministry can be messy. It can be exhausting. It can test your patience and your heart. And yet, as I reflect today, that’s often where God does some of His greatest work.

As we were cleaning up, our dear friend Flora came over and asked if she could pray with me. I don’t think she’ll ever know what that meant to me and how much I needed those prayers.

After we prayed, she told me not to be discouraged by the day. She said that so many people keep coming back because they feel the love of Jesus when they’re with us. She said it’s not just the food, the clothes, or the necessities. It’s the kindness, compassion, encouragement, and genuine love they receive from the people who serve.

Her words instantly reminded me of something Melinda told me years ago.
She said, “Doreen, we need the stuff you bring, but that’s not why we keep coming back. We come back because we know we are loved.”

That has stayed with me all these years because it’s true, not just for our homeless friends, but for every one of us. Deep down, aren’t we all looking for the same thing? We want to be seen, to be loved, to know that someone cares.

Yesterday reminded me that our calling isn’t just to hand someone a meal or a bag of groceries. Our calling is to reflect the love of Christ to every person we meet.

Flora, thank you for reminding me that even on the hardest days, God is still moving. He is always faithful, even when we’re tired, discouraged, or wondering if what we’re doing is making a difference.

Thank you to every volunteer who showed up yesterday. Your smiles, your hugs, your prayers, your patience, and your kindness matter more than you’ll ever know. Because sometimes the greatest gift we can give isn’t what’s in our hands, it’s the love of Jesus that flows through our hearts.

God is always faithful. To God be the glory!

All Because of Him,

Doreen
