This trend made me think a little deeper…
What if Anny-M existed in the 80s?
No social media. No online booking. No Google reviews. No reels, algorithms, websites, or DMs. Just a phone, an appointment book, word of mouth, hard work… and a dream.
Obviously, my business didn’t exist back then, but imagining it made me realize that even if the decade were different, I think the woman behind the dream would still be the same.
I’d still be dreaming bigger than where I was.
Still creating.
Still learning.
Still taking risks.
Still wanting to build something of my own.
Still believing there was another level to reach.
Because the tools change. Trends change. Businesses evolve. The world keeps moving. But ambition, resilience, and the courage to keep going don’t belong to any particular decade.
Building what I have today hasn’t been a straight line. There have been beautiful seasons and difficult ones. I’ve changed plans, started over, learned lessons the hard way, celebrated wins, made mistakes, and kept moving forward.
And the best part?
I’m still not finished.
There are goals I haven’t reached yet. Ideas I haven’t brought to life yet. Dreams that still scare me a little. And versions of myself I haven’t even met yet.
So if Anny-M had existed in 1987, maybe it would’ve looked something like this: big hair, shoulder pads, a ringing landline, a handwritten appointment book… and one woman with way too many ideas and enough faith to keep chasing them.
Different decade. Same ambition. Same faith. Bigger dreams.
