Good morning everyone!! 🙂 I hope everyone reading this post is having a great day, regardless of when you read it. 🙂
It's been several days since I've written a post but I want to take a few minutes to encourage you. No matter what you're dealing with, remember that this too shall pass.
This is an excerpt of something I read in the morning. I don't know who Billy is personally but Billy is a friend of the author. 👇
"Meditation is the practice of deliberately focusing our thoughts on God's truth rather than allowing them to run wild with fear and anxiety. It wasn't a concept Billy had given much thought to before, but desperate circumstances make excellent teachers."
Scott Savage, author
When you're dealing with anxiety, depression, or any other battle, remember to stop and take a deep breath. There is nothing too big that God can't handle. Fill your mind with good things, whether is meditation music, spending time in the sun, the Bible, or whatever makes you happy.
Another excerpt from Scott Savage:
"Remember, if your mind is like a garden, whatever you plant and water will grow. Make sure you're nourishing the right thoughts."

We're 12 days into the new year but that doesn't mean you can't still start over with whatever New Year resolution you might have made back on January 1st. It's never too late to make new habits or break old or bad habits. 🙂
I've heard many various resolutions made. The most common resolutions I've heard are to lose weight, quit smoking, and to be more positive. Any resolution you make takes time to fulfill. The key is persistence. I've also heard from various people in my life that it takes 21 days to make a new habit or to break an old habit. Again, the key is persistence.
What if your New Year's resolution was to lose weight? Even for me, that's honestly a very tough one. There are so many temptations in our world today. I am an absolute SUCKER for gummy candy, chocolate, ice cream, and doughnuts. There are many times when I have to tell myself "now, get your butt AWAY from that display because you know that isn't a good idea."
I've been using essential oils for 4 years now. When I started my weight loss journey, I was still over the road. There aren't many healthy options for truck drivers which is really no surprise that a lot of truck drivers are obese, some morbidly obese. I was one of those drivers and was facing losing my medical card for my CDL. About 250 pounds at 5'-6", high blood pressure, and borderline diabetic. Needless to say, I had to make some SERIOUS changes in my life or I was probably gonna be the next driver pulled out if the cab from EMS personnel.
A couple of months or so after I got started with essential oils after discovering , I discovered the Fit blend. Wondering how grapefruit, spearmint, and lavender work together, that was the first blend I tried and almost a year before I started making my own blends.
Aromatherapy Katie has created a beautiful blend that seriously helped me avoid a lot of cravings I had at the time and, a few months later, 100 pounds. All I did was add a few drops to a 10mL roller bottle, topped that bottle off with fractionated coconut oil, put the inner cap back on, shake, and apply before I started my day. I didn't think anything else about it except for when I reapplied Fit 1-2 more times through my 11 hour drive shift while stopped for any reason.
Well? Later that day, which was the first day I used Fit, I had to get diesel for my truck. When I went inside the truck stop to get my receipts, the smell of Cinnabon rolls didn't phase me. (I am NOT saying you will have the same results, I am sharing my experience with Fit.) This was the first time I actually walked away from a huge cinnamon roll and I was super proud of myself.
Having a small success with avoiding a Cinnabon cinnamon roll, I was motivated to make other changes so I started with changing my drive schedule so I can utilize Instacart to get groceries delivered to me as I can't just park a 70 ft. vehicle just anywhere I would like to.
Day after day, I made one small change and, over time, I didn't need Fit as much, maybe once a day. Again, I also made changes in my diet in conjunction with using Fit.
For this month's box, Fit is included in the box. This month's theme? DIY Lotions & Balms. Also included in this month's box are Marjoram (sweet), Cypress, and Blood Orange. (More about the recipes with another post.)
Each month has a new theme but every month you will get 4 oils, 6 recipes, and all the basics you need to make the recipes in the box. Not to mention you will have a lot of fun with the recipes.
New subscribers get a $45 eGift card to use for more oils and supplies. Also, new subscribers get a Big Bonus Box that has one 4oz bottle of fractionated coconut oil, one 4oz bottle of almond oil, one 2oz package of beeswax, one 12oz container of solid coconut oil, six 5mL essential oil bottles, and six 10mL roller bottles.
If Simply Earth can change my mind about essential oils, and I was an absolute skeptic, I'm sure they can change yours. I used to be super cynical about it and often thought "yeah right!" I ultimately decided to give essential oils a try for only one month. Not only did Fit help me with my weight loss journey, I also noticed all kinds of uses for oils and have had my boxes every month since. 🙂

According to Facebook, it's been 150 days since I've written a post. There are so many reasons for this and too many to go into detail about. I needed to take a sabbatical from writing posts or sharing anything for the most part due to major life changes.
2026 is a new year and, by faith, I am believing for a lot of things to change.
Today, 1/2/26, I want to share a tidbit from my morning readings I been doing for a couple of months.
“A faith without some doubts is like a human body with no antibodies in it. People who blithely go through life too busy or indifferent to ask the hard questions about why they believe as they do will find themselves defenseless against either the experience of tragedy or the probing questions of a smart skeptic.”
~Timothy Keller
I don't know who Timothy Keller is and I've never heard of him before today. That's ok though.
Over the last 150 days, I've been asking myself some very hard questions. For starters, I've been asking myself why I left the road. Honestly? I still ask myself that question sometimes.
A lot of people think that OTR truck drivers make a yacht load of money. The truth is this: OTR drivers really don't. Not unless they want to completely sacrifice their families anyway. I got to the point where I was tired of sacrificing my marriage, my family and my general sanity. Sure, I also learned a lot about myself for over 8 years driving over the road. But that journey almost cost me everything that I hold near and dear to my heart.
Money isn't everything. Sometimes, you just have to step away from something like a lucrative job to realize this. Even though I was making six figures as a company driver, being away from my family for 4-12 weeks at a time, sometimes much longer, wasn't worth it.
When I left my job as a company driver and went to a company where I was a lease operator, I wasn't making the amount of money I was used to which caused the household bills to pile up which led to near total destruction of mine and my husband's finances. In total, and this amount still blows my mind, I lost about $85,000 over 2 years due to the load payments continuing to go down.
The basic laws of supply and demand painfully applied towards the end of my OTR days. There was a sudden influx of new drivers, some as young as 18, which made the load pay go down considerably because there were more drivers to spread the loads around to. There were still things like truck payments, truck insurance, maintenance, and diesel for owner and lease operators to pay and I'm not going there with those specific costs except to say that they are astronomical.
The bottom line is that truck drivers are an essential part of our economy. Without truck drivers, all of the items in your local stores would not be there. As for me and my family, I chose to leave the road. At least until my husband can join me but that's not happening for a good while.
Have you ever faced a scenario like I faced? I dare say yes. Whether you have faced a scenario like I faced or you're facing a scenario I faced, stop and ask yourself why. Ask yourself if it's worth it. Is it? If not, don't be afraid to step out in faith to change.
This is the beginning of a new year and it's only January 2nd. Counting today, you have 364 days left this year to make whatever necessary changes in your life.
As for Blends? I too am in the process of making necessary changes. I will be posting more from Blends in the future so please stay tuned. 🙂
Stay blessed and Happy New Year (2026). 🙂💖

I have been incognito for a while now due to a lot of serious events in my life. My husband and I have had to deal with a lot lately. I have confided with only a select few people with what all is going on in mine and my husband's lives.
Stress has a lot of effects on your health. However, stress is part of everyone's life. Even through all the stressful events my husband and I have had to deal with, we still eat as healthy as possible.
Stress management can be difficult especially if you're also trying to eat as healthy as possible. Always remember to stop and take a deep breath when dealing with stressful events. Remember, whatever stressful event that's going on in your life is just temporary.
Admittedly, my husband and I have strayed away from healthy eating quite a bit lately but we also made the decision that, no matter what, we're going to stay on the healthy lifestyle we worked so hard to establish almost 5 years ago.
To be blunt, when all Hell breaks loose in your life, all you have as a foundation is your health. Without your health, you can't deal with whatever stressful event that's going on in your life.
I want to share a recipe I made for me and my husband this morning. It's a one skillet meal made with chicken, bell pepper, and cauliflower rice.
Recipe:
Unrefined coconut oil: 2 tablespoons
Chicken breast (free range): One, about 4 ounces
Green bell pepper (organic): One
Riced cauliflower: 2 cups
Ground turmeric powder: 1 teaspoon
Garlic powder: 1 tablespoon
Cilantro leaves: 1 teaspoon
Ground himalayan salt: to taste (I added 1 tablespoon)
Ground peppercorn: to taste (I added 1/2 tablespoon)
Instructions:
1) Cut your chicken into cubes.
2) Cut your bell pepper into small pieces.
3) Add coconut oil to a skillet and allow it to heat on high. Once the coconut oil starts to get hot, turn the heat down to medium. You don't want to burn your coconut oil.
4) Add chicken breast. While stirring, allow the chicken to cook until just about done.
5) Once the chicken is just about done, add your bell pepper. Stir in with the chicken.
6) Add your cauliflower rice. Stir everything together.
7) Add your spices. Stir everything together.
8) Put the lid on top and allow everything to steam together for 15-20 minutes.
9) Remove the lid, stir once more, and enjoy.
