I’ve had my share of adversity, but nothing tested me like 2025. The kind of year that strips you down and forces you to confront what you actually believe. The kind that would push many people away from God, or leave them questioning whether He was ever there at all.

It didn’t give me easy faith. It demanded it.

I spent more time inside hospitals than anywhere else. Long days staring at walls that have held too many prayers. I lost people I loved..not to death, but to absence, and I learned that abandonment often says more about someone else’s capacity than it does about your worth.

I stood close to death when my best friend lost her brother. Watching grief from that distance still changes you. It rearranges your sense of what is permanent and what can be taken without warning.

I almost lost my mom..and I don’t think I fully understood how much that could have destroyed me until I was standing in it. Watching her endure pain, fear and uncertainty showed me a strength I will never stop admiring. I see her struggle. I see her resilience. And I need her to know that her strength does not go unnoticed. I love her deeply and I am endlessly grateful she is still here.

This year forced me to face the fragility of life and the miracle of what our bodies can do. My 7 month old son lives with stage five chronic kidney disease. He has endured more in his short life than most adults do in a lifetime. Something most people never think twice about…kidneys quietly doing their job..became the center of my world. It stripped away every illusion of control and replaced it with reverence for what we so casually take for granted..the ability to eat without fear, to grow without uncertainty, to trust that a body will simply function.

This year was the ultimate test of my faith, not because God was absent, but because I had to choose Him again and again without answers. And I’m grateful I never walked away. He didn’t let go of me, and I felt that in the moments when prayer was the only thing left to hold.

I move thru life with a new awareness and no longer rushing past what is sacred. I choose to live fully aware that none of this is guaranteed and it’s all worth honoring.
